So, Ranka still has her brother (Sunrise tip 1).

Grace was the underling that killed herself for starting hatred (Sunrise tip 2)

Whatever his name is in the red mecha is drawn to Ranka by unknown reasons (Sunrise tip 3)

Why did this feel like an ep of Gundam Seed or Gundam 00? And so the ability that Gigil used in Macross 7 is now a weapon?

Oh well, kinda good ep with lots of Alto-hime breaking a lot of new guys. You can´t be male with that face you know.

Nice dogfight though. Oh well. I´ll continue watching for as long as the show keeps going on. Best show in a long long time.

My thoughts about the next ep:
It´ll go like this: Vajra attacks the Frontier Fleet, Ranka feels herself being eaten/drained of energy and things are looking bad when at the final moment Alto-hime comes rushing in to save the day of the next ep.

Mind you, I’d settle for “everyone dies but Sheryl and Mikhail and Klein, who go off together” ending too, just to piss off the shippers. Ah, delicious plot development – how we’ve missed you.

I agree that it cannot be SDF-1, and it seems that with the new name and number it is a sister-ship or successor class of Macross.

I have to admit that my admiration for Sheryl really grew this time like a real pro she went out and did something. She even hit one of my own fundamental weaknesses and I dearly hope that Sheryl becomes a pilot as that flight suit did suit her superbly. Kyun Kyun watashi no Sheryl wa Piloto….

Alto-hime grows more radiant and yuri-able as the eps go by.

Though it seems that Brera-nii is on the fast track for to becoming a Kaifun Class ass-hat personality-wise, though at least he’s a killer this time around. :)

I am curious to see who that VF-171 pilot is in the preview though…man now even the VF-171 is looking more awesome in battroid form. God I love this series.

Both the non-transformable Megaroad class ships and Macross ships shared the SDF designation. My guess is that while most colony fleets used Megaroad class ships like the original SDF-2 Megaroad-01, fleets that needed greater protection like the 117th fleet were probably issued Macross class ships like the SDF-4 Global since they were far more heavily armed than the bigger but colony orientated Megaroads.

Nope, apparently it is the SDF-4 Global, which unlike most of the SDFs after the original could transform into a humanoid mode.
