I was wondering when Kawamori would pop up in Macross F. And none other than the director of the Macross Zero inmovie.

And yes, his mechanical designs are pure genius ranging from those Transformer toys to the Valkyrie. I grew up with his toys.

Crusader: His name is Kawamori. ;) but yes, this has started to triangle plot in earnest.

And “Doctor Mao”? Sounds like SOMEONE definitely survived Earth’s nuking. Maybe she joined the UN Spacy? Or was along with the 117th Expeditionary Fleet? She would be about 50-something by now, and if she was a mother would’ve been one in her forties…

Judging by Ozma’s mention of one “Doctor Mao”, I doubt we’ve heard the last of Mao Nome. Seems like she’ll probably play a pretty big part in the story later on. Also Bird Human is a dumb name.

At least the important parts were kept to a decent and at times glorious standard.

Now that Ranka has had her kissu we the War for Alto-hime shall begin in earnest.

I just loved how the director was already foreshadowed as the bearded fellow who got one of Ranka’s promotional tissue packets. The man needs a name because he is obviously a genius and has an eye for talent. He selected Ranka as his Mao without giving so much as a pause. The man also leapt upon Alto-hime when he realized who it was saying yo. Such is the beauty of Alto-hime that even now the bridge crew including Cathy are now a part of his fan club.
