To expand what nakoruru said, they were probably after the Super Dimensional Lens/Crystals also shown as purple stones. The SD Crystals allow for fold communications and fold travel without worry of Fold Interference. That's why they tried to capture Luca which had a crystal on his F.S.S.A for controlling the Ghosts.

Okay, after Catherine got motion sickness, I completely spaced out when Bobby said the whole 'congratulations' thing. I the know the answer is obvious, but for some reason I just can't figure it out.

I suspect that's not an implant and probably her cell phone - since if this was the case, then the Vajra should be targeting GRACE of all people, rather than Ranka or Sheryl (neither of which are known to have implants). Sound energy may be important in triggering things, but I think the implants are a red herring.

A few corrections/comments.....

1.) The red valkyrie was not asleep inside of the Vajra capital ship. We actually briefly saw the red valkyrie maneuver to the ship from the outside. (or at least the light trail it left in its wake). Additonally, we saw that when Alto had entered the Vajra capital ship, there were some dead Vajra inside already. The Vajra and the wall behind them were riddled with bullet holes. It was this mysterious red valkyrie that had gone in and killed some Vajra before Alto's arrival.

2.) The glow we see coming from under Ranka's dress is probably an implant. While implants are illegal on the Macross Frontier fleet, they are not illegal everywhere. (such as the Macross Galaxy fleet). And it is not illegal to have an implant on Frontier (Sheryl's aid/manager has one)... it is just illegal on Frontier to have an implant implanted. We know already that Ranka is not a Frontier-fleet native, so it is likely she has implants (including her hair, for example).

My theory: The Vajra might be reacting to certain implants. It could be why the Vajra swarmed the Galaxy fleet, which has a large population of people with implants. (Sheryl is one of the rare few from the Galaxy fleet without implants).

I am guessing that these implants react oddly to singing (or perhaps "song energy", as described in the "Macross 7" series) that the Vajra are sensitive to. In virtually every case where the Vajra show up, it is around Ranka after after she has sung.

"My max upload speed is just about 35% of what the minimum PD asks."

PD works fine here @ 512 kbps upload rate, which is the minimum upload rate for Share. A quick setup and searching for マクロスフロンティア gives, for example the transport stream (2,1GB) for ep 7, so maybe it's worth giving it a try ;3 The review system is also a nice feature. Just don't forget to fill up the unity file first with 2GB worth of data - just add a commonly available file to the upload and after hashing, you'll have more then enough and will be able to download.

BTW, great blog, love your recommendations - the newest one being Kamen no Maid Guy, which I still haven't checked out, but the premise looks good :D

Don´t forget the "Planet Dance" attack formation... I jumped when I heard that one.

Missile barrage is pure win. This ep wasn´t epic or anything, but still in the end it was quite good.

@Haesslich: She wasn't onstage together with Sheryl. She was just singing along from the audience stand.

@igro: Too bad the internet here is too crap to use PD. My max upload speed is just about 35% of what the minimum PD asks.
