Code Geass R2 starts

Code Geass R2

Finally, after almost a year of waiting, Geass R2 starts.

  • It’s also a year later in the series and somehow Lulu has lost all his memories of being Zero, and now reverts back to his state in Geass S1 before he got his powers. In retrospect, they restarted the series almost in a mirror image of what happens in the first season.
  • I lol’ed when they started the episode with Viletta chasing Lulu all round the school to catch him for his P.E. classes. That switch with Rivalz was really over-the-top. It’s good to see the rest of the Student Council members back.
  • It also wonderfully explains the existence of Rollo, Lulu’s supposed kid brother. As for who implanted the fake memories, Lulu was being used as bait to lure out C.C., so I presume he was caught at the end of Geass S1 and reused after being implanted with fake memories. I’m pretty suspicious of Rollo’s true identity as well.
  • Lelouch was way awesome after he got back his memories when C.C. unlocks it with a kiss. He looks positively cool and evil, especially at that angle showing his Geass eye prominently.
  • Code Geass R2

  • Kallen is awesome as usual, with her acting skills, and she does really make for an awesome covert operative, heh heh. Bunny girl Kallen rocks.
  • Code Geass R2

There’s something in your boobs there, Kallen!
  • C.C. has been sorely missed as well, and it’s good to see her back, wearing the awesome custom pilot uniform too.

OP: 02~オー・ツー~, Ō Tsū by Orange Range.
Not much to say about the song. It’s okay, but I still prefer the first season openers. The OP animation sequence is pretty awesome, with a ton of mecha action. I like Anya’s custom mecha a lot. Quad Hadron Cannons is pretty hax.

ED: シアワセネイロ, Shiawase Neiro by Orange Range
Again, not much to say about the song. I don’t seem to be liking both the songs for the OP and ED. On the other hand, the ED animation is made of tons of win, with CLAMP’s renditions of the main characters in the series, playing by in a slideshow manner. Lelouche looks positively…. CLAMP in it.

P.S. : Forgot to mention, but Pizza Hut still supports the rebellion! (Credits to Omni for reminding me)

Oh God, finally. The one ray of light in my life to restore my faith in anime. Can’t wait until this gets subbed.

This must be what it feels to be high.

it is less of a reset and more of a Death Note homage.

    That’s better.

Xellos: That would be if he Geassed himself (already done last season) or lost his memories intentionally as part of his plan (it seems someone must have done that, but no sign of it being his intention).

That last picture of Lelouch looks like they borrowed the vampire designs of Kamui and Subaru from TRC. No complaints here though ^^

great opening sets the story up fast. There was no “NOOO! What happens next?” cliffhanger which gave me a real good feeling that I wouldn’t have to be confused.

And I was smiling throughout the whole episode. It’s so cool that mostlhy everyone knows Zero=Lelouch.

Kurogane: did you download an HD raw? (the screenshots are very clean) Also what do you use for screenshots?

Xellos: Yeah… you’re quite right too. It does mirror the part where Light wiped out his memories, but I don’t think Lelouch did it himself though.

kiryuu: Yes! Yes! It looks positively awesome.

Avisch: Yes I got the HD raw (nearly 600MB in size lawl). The show is airing in HD anyways. I usually take screencaps with ffdshow’s built in grab function.

Lelouch did wipe his own memories before though, remember? When saving his sister from Mao…

hmm @ Choas2: but Lelouch’s geass can’t be used twice on any one person. So its impossible for him to have used the geass on himself again

I think he was most likely captured, and then brainwashed to be used to lure out C.C.

Whoever caught him probably knows that he’s Zero, and he’s contracted to C.C. Since they never did caught C.C., then it’s logical they kept him alive, only with fake memories, in order to lure out C.C. and the remnants of the Black Knights to capture them.

  18. Nagato Said,

Likely, they know who C.C. is. Also, seeing as how the special investigation team was granted ‘special permission’ from the Emperor, it suggests that the Emperor knows WHO Lulu is – both as Zero and Lelouch vi Britannia. Which is interesting, before my headache kicks in the last thought I have is that the Emperor is playing the entire world for fools in a game.

Oh, those old people with their beards and whatnot, they are indeed magnificent.

Upon watching the ED, it seems like V.V. and the Emperor are connected. Maybe the old man has a Geass of his own or something.

But really, exactly what kind of weird shit is going on I have no idea. It’s not simply Lelouch who seems to have forgotten his memories; Shirely seems to have forgotten that Lelouch is Zero and everybody just accepts Rollo as the younger brother. That, and Nunally seems to have vanished off the face of the Earth. It’s like some kind of massive selective mind wipe.

Bloody hell, Episode 1 was epic. I couldn’t stop myself from trembling while watching it through the whole episode. Only flaw is that it took a hell long time to download; both Torrent and mIRC were extremely slow, and I wouldn’t have been able to watch it had it not been for a direct download link posted in the channel. Whoot.

I think Lelouch’s father planned the whole thing about Lelouch’s mother’s death right from the start and made Lelouch hate him when Lelouch went to confront his mother’s death with his father. Moreover, I have a feeling that Lelouch’s father knew that someday C.C. will meet with Lelouch and get his Geass and go against him. I think maybe this has something to do about C.C. and V.V. origin and maybe Lelouch’s father thought Lelouch was a smart kid fit to become the future Emperor so his father purposely did those horrible thing to him.

Anyways hopefully we get to find out more about Lelouch’s father, reasons behind his mother’s death and the origin of C.C. and V.V. and the myterious power called Geass.

I look forward to the unraveling of secrets in the second season!!!
