Spice and Wolf 12

Spice and Wolf

Women will always be women, no matter the species, XD. Nice analogy with the rabbits and wolves there, Horo *thumbs up*.

I sure wish we get to see Horo pwning teh shit out of that other wolf and his pack. Lawrence keeps failing again though, he should’ve seen that backstab coming. Horo’s right, he’s just too kind at times.

Vista SP1

So I updated my Vista rig to SP1. Guess what happened afterwards..

Vista

Take a close look at the RAM….

… apparently Vista SP1 gives me 900% more RAM. Too bad it’s not 180GB, or I’d be able to say, “It’s over 9000%!”

Apart from that, nothing major I feel from the SP1 upgrade, probably because I don’t use it as my main.

LOCKONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TT_TT *sheds manly tears*

God damn, that was a better death than I expected. He actually left Dynames, and sniped Ali manually by connecting his sniper attachment to the GN Arm gun. Incidentally, he relinquished ownership of the Haro before he did that, so the “any character with a Haro doesn’t die” rule still holds true >:).

Well, with Dynames’s GN Drive still intact, it does mean that there’ll be either: (i). Lockon’s twin brother taking up his role; (ii) A new Meister next season; (iii) Lockon is somewhat saved and returns next season as the masked protagonist (lol). Let’s hope (iii) doesn’t happen again ^^;;.

Sailor-fuku Maria + Megane = ?

Maria: “Ohnoes, I’m still the center of attraction when I want to blend in. Let’s try putting on some glasses.”

Hayate the Combat Butler

Me and the other readers: “Megane Mar-…. *moe overloads*”

Maria is just so awesome and cute at times likes this.

Also, LOL at the “elevator action”, he he ^^.

ToLOVEる Drama CD

ToLOVEru

Finally found some time to listen to this, not a bad drama CD. Most of the characters are in this CD too, so it’s fun to listen to how they all sound like before the anime starts next month.

The plot of the drama CD is about the whole cast getting invited over to a island owned by Tenjouin Saki for the summer vacations. Along the way, the usual ecchi comedy hijinks happens. If you’re a reader of this series… I think you can guess what happens :). Expect bikinis, trapped in the female onsen, and boobs.

On to the voice impressions, Haruka Tomatsu as Lala was rather different that what I imagined, but after a while, I got used to it. Sayuri Yahagi as Haruna Sairenji is pretty good, and it’s a departure from her usual roles. A bit too bad that Kana Hanazawa as Mikan Yuki didn’t get much time in the drama CD. Kana Hanazawa is awesome!

The major show stealer is Ayako Kawasumi doing Tenjouin Saki, and this is the first time(?) I’ve heard her doing the arrogant, rich ojou-sama type character and she’s definitely enjoying herself a lot with the role. Ayako Kawasumi doing the “ohohohohohohoho” laugh is just priceless.

Overall, a nice primer for fans and non-fans of this series alike, and if you’re an Ayako Kawasumi diehard fan, I strongly suggest getting this CD to listen, just for her.

EDIT: Added a sample of Ayako’s laugh wwwww

Shana II 22

Shakugan no Shana II

Saved by the bell?

Okay, so Sabrac didn’t die. Guess that’s expected anyways.

On to this episode, it serves more as a “calm before the storm” episode than another “angst-ridden romance” drama episode.

Kantarou returns again, to drop “Yuji-niisan” a nice bombshell of a future addition to the Sakai household. I personally hope for a girl. It also made Shana curious about how to “make” children, and she shamelessly asks the question to the Sakai household, as well as Alastor, who all dodge the question, until Yoshida tells her how embarrassing that question is.

After that though, Shana decides to end their romantic rivalry once and for all, by having both of them write love letters to Yuji inviting him to the different locations at the same time during Christmas Eve. Kinda puts him in a bind heh. Ike-kun alss realizes that all his friends has changed and he decides to change as well, finally confessing to Yoshida on the same Christmas Eve, telling her that she doesn’t have to answer it yet. That scene was much more epic in the first opening animation though.

Unfortunately, before Yuji can decide where to head to, he is ‘conveniently’ attacked by Hecate. I swear he looked relieved for a moment there. Hecate summons out the Reiji Maigo from within Yuji and separates it from him, ending in another cliffhanger.

So another chance to resolve the romance battle is foiled yet again by impeccable timing from Hecate and her gang. I’m kinda surprised though with the development of Chigusa’s pregnancy, even if I was prepared for it already. Still, it’s good news. Gotta love how Shana was innocently asking everyone how to make babies after knowing of that .

Anyways, back to the main story with the next episode, and will we see Yuji fading in to sparks or will he join the Dark side?

Vista saves the day!

After nearly a 15 hour marathon of setting up my new PC, Vista finally prevailed over XP and saved my day!

First a recap. I’ve been planning to assemble together a new PC to complement my current rig, an old but reliable 478′er Prescott (haha). After nearly a year of skimping and saving, I managed to buy the components piece by piece and finally, yesterday, I took the big leap. Here’s the rig specs:

Intel Core2Duo E4500 = RM 380
2 x 1GB Corsair Twin2X DDR2 = RM250
DFI INFINITY P965-S = RM 550
Sapphire HD3870 = RM 660
Silverstone Strider ST56F = RM 320
Seagate 7200.10 320GB = RM 230
Encloxure Shinobi SH09A = RM 140
Total = RM 2305

I started the assembling all the components at 9, after a good night’s sleep, and finished it at 12, after some mishaps :(. So anyways, with the board POST’ed up, I proceeded to install XP SP2 on it, but the snag came at installing ATI’s Catalyst driver, where I tried not only with the provided drivers, but also their latest 8.3 and 8.2 versions, all of which caused XP to BSOD itself upon loading. Wasted around 12 hours trying to get it work, in the end, I tried Vista.

And lo and behold! Catalyst 8.3 installed perfectly on Vista, giving me 4.4 on the Windows Experience Index, plus giving me my first taste of the Windows Aero theme, and I must say, god damn, it’s beautiful. Definitely didn’t expect to see Vista actually making me go over the moon in happiness, considering the amount of bad rep I’ve been exposed to of it, but I’ll say, it ain’t that bad after all!

Anyways, retiring for a good rest first, before proceeding to play around more with my new rig.

EDIT: I’m selling off my new D-Link KVM switch, since it can’t support my keyboard well. Any local readers interested? :P

CLANNAD 21

CLANNAD

2 minutes of tongue twisters followed by the Theater club girls doing warmup exercises. Thank you for the ero-ero angles, cameraman!

CLANNAD

Also, megane Tomoyo is pretty kawaii, but she could use either bigger glasses or neater hair to improve the attractiveness of the whole image.

Actually… I dunno what else to say about this episode really. I… well, emo Nagisa doesn’t really endear.

Minami-ke ~Okawari~ 10

Minami-ke ~Okawari~

Thanks to Chiaki’s embarassing slip-up (for her at least), the Minami’s plan an o-hanami, while still in winter. Needless to say, their plans don’t really come to fruitation, thanks to a certain fox-eyed senpai who brings juice along. Oh god, that juice. *cups face to hand*

This was definitely a fun episode to watch, and Hayami-senpai strikes again. Dear god, those “juice” she drinks are legendary.
