I was really hoping that when the train passed, it would be in front of her and it actually never hit her. That would've been enough of a shock but without the death...

I don't know what to say. After the whole Bell thing, it got way to out of hand and I don't know what to say about the anime.

At least Hayami was in the ending. If she wasn't, I would've been upset =P

I'm sort of uncomfortable with the whole "lol she's baaaack" ending of the anime. I would have much rather Hayami straight up not die. I'd think just seeing her barely escape death (getting out of the tracks at the last second would have been enough to snap him out of it. Also, I wanted a scene of Hayami and Hirose's wedding, both to provide "yes, she's really alive again" closure and to see if Hamaji would be there as a Bridesmaid or a groomsman. >_>

Also, I want a Hamaji/Maki OVA please.

Lol, Magnius, it's a pretty apt summary, hahaha.

As for Kinny Riddle's question, yes, H2O did rock my soul at the final episode... somewhat.

I can't seem to stop listening to the insert song 「life」 by Haruka Shimotsuki now. One thing that was truly rocking my soul in this series has to be the nice songs and the good BGM's (except for anything Magical Otoha).

I'm sure the question that most needs to be answered is:

Has H2O rocked your soul? lol

The story went downhill starting from Episode 7. It was like the producers were trying to rush everything by slamming it all together, which resulted in a highly screwed up dysfunctional mess-up. I hated the way it goes down at the speed of light just after everything seems to be right.

... Or maybe I feel that way since I watched Episodes 8 to 12 in a row without stopping. During my Classical Mythology class. In the back of the room. The only reason I didn't swear when Hayami got offed for the first time was cause I didn't want to draw attention to myself during class time.

It's not that I don't understand how Hayami and Hirose act during the last few episodes, it's just that I hate how it was played out.

Hirose: I LOVE YOU!
Hayami: I LOVE YOU TOO!
Grandfather: YO MOMMA!
Hirose: OH MY GOD NO!
Hayami: YOU'RE BLIND!
Hirose: I'M BLIND!
Grandfather: LEAVE, WOMAN!
Hayami: I'LL LEAVE.
Hirose: I'M BLIND!
Grandfather: DIE, WOMAN!
Hirose: I'M BLIND!
Hayami: HE'S BLIND!
Hirose: MOMMY!
Hayami: I'M GOING TO GET HIT BY A BUS!
Hirose: HAYAMI-CHAN!

OH SHIT HE'S BLIND!

Honestly, I think that the ending was a perfect reflection of the series as a whole, a mess punctuated by moments of both charming pleasure and frustrating nonsense.

I liked the sort of epilogue for the secondary characters, especially with Hamaji and Maki getting married and having kids while Hamaji is still in trap mode. I'd pay just to see a series about how that courtship and marriage has worked out alone.

I really didn't like how they wrapped things up with Hayami and Takumi. I mean, yes, her getting killed by the train offerred a chance for Takumi to get some insight into what truly happend to his mother, but I just think it was handled in a really ham-fisted way. I mean, Hayami jumped onto the tracks presumably to save the kid. BUT the last scene before she gets splattered is her standing on the track holding the kid. I mean, was she trying to save the kid or join him? At least show her pushing the kid out of the way and not making it herself. Otherwise, it doesn't seem like she sacrificed her life to save the kid, but rather committed suicide by joining him.

And even though this series has had it's fair share of supernatural stuff with Otoha, to suddenly resurrect Hayami kind of pushes it I think. I mean, are the villagers gonna just go "oh, cool, Hayami's back" and go on like nothing happend?.....well actually, given how they reacted to major revelations throughout the series, I guess they would, but that isn't a good thing.

I enjoyed the series, it had some great characters, but I just think the story was badly thought out and executed and it really held this series back.

yeah! hayami's death really shocked me =[ i cried heaps man coz i felt sorry for hayami and she just... died like that. but i didn't expect it and iuno at the end i kinda felt i cried for nothing realli.... i was like ... omg ZnTII like ending T_T!! and yeah i kinda felt annoyed lol.
but the part when hotaru and hayami parted was quite sad too, the insert song that played, i liked it =] "ill never forget you." aww
and that SMILE that hayami pulled when she noticed that hirose knew who she was, awww that smile was heartbreaking, then BAM shes gone.
overall, i only liked hayami x3! lol, hirose bugged me quite a lot, but i didn't mind it being ami koshimizu, she didn't do a bad job. but at the start of this ep, when hirose was screaming? that sounded almost 100% like a girl.
also, future hirose is hot =D very cool.
