However, due to the fact your I/O panel (back where you plug the mouse, keyboard, USBs, etc) occupies some RAM already, you will only at best, get about 3.2gbs to show. Jumping up to the 64bit opearing system, the max is like 18,000gbs or something. (That's probably completely off but, thats the gist of it). However, if you look under your BIOs, your motherboard can recognize alot more then just 4 gigabytes of RAM :) About the RAM issue, with a 32bit operating system, the operating system itself will only be able to recognize up to 4 gigabytes of ram.
