Hmmm very interesting. As I thought(though I admit I had my doubts after last episode) this show insists on keeping you guessing right to the end.

Till we know how it works out, Ai can still serve as either a parallel to the “main” relationships(YAY FOR YOU AI! I hope you do find happiness.

The thing about Aiko’s subplot is that I don’t see how it adds to True Tears. It doesn’t do anything except to kill a little time. In fact, her character did not make any impact that is on the level that should put her equal with the other two girls in the OP. Really don’t understand that subplot.

Its a bad sign that the Ai & Miyokichi subplot is so much more interesting and emotional than the socially retarded main characters

Oh, as I said, it’s understandable, but not any less disturbing for me, though it is admittedly in character for her given past events and present circumstances.

She’s been either sad, jealous, or just plain mean for so much of the series that perhaps I was hoping to be shown something of why Shin has put her on a pedestal.

*shrug* Who is Noe to Hiromi? Sure, as a fellow human being and a schoolmate (as in going to the same school, not like they’re friends or anything), she’s expected to worry about her disappearance. But as rivals in love for the same person? It would be only natural for Hiromi to worry if prompting Shin to search for Noe would somehow further the distance between Shin and herself, compared to worrying about Noe who is her love rival. She was perturbed at the urgency Shin gave because she (mis)took it as a sign of his affection for Noe, legitimately so considering how she expressed herself to him in this episode. And when you consider how she saw the picture book in Shin’s room, well…

In fact, had this happened before she moved out of the house, I doubt she would’ve even told Shin at all due to the lack of contact with Shin which resulted in less trust in Shin remaining with her. It’s a forgivable sin, so I’m not particularly distressed over what I see as a normal reaction given her disposition.

Oh and yes, I second ‘no Nice Tears’. The one reason I hate School Days as an anime is that it introduced/promoted the bloody ending concept to the school love genre. Now every single ‘jilted girl’ fanboy cries for NICE BOAT. Really, School Days is bad enough. No more.
