Shana II 21

Shana II

Wow, this season of Shana is definitely shaping up to be pretty epic.

The fight against Sabrac continues, and Yuji theorizes that Sabrac’s actually the whole city itself, and the form that Wilhelmina’s been fighting is only part of it. He proceeds to lay out a plan for Margery and Shana to execute, and with Wilhelmina’s secret trump card, the Unrestricted Method to counter Stigma made by Johann, Margery lays out the trap, while Shana and Wilhelmina deal with Sabrac.

Shana retreats in the middle of the fight, to conserve energy, while Margery finishes up the trap, just in time to take over from the tired-out Wilhelmina. Sabrac is lured in the trap, which is basically Margery lifting a whole portion of the city upwards, cutting Sabrac’s links off, and Shana deals the final blow, in a pretty epic manner.

The plan works and Sabrac is finally vanquished, and peace returns back to Misaki city. Yoshida and Shana’s relationship with Yuji is back to normal, and for the first time in a while, we get to hear Shana’s trademark “Urusai, urusai, urusai!” line.

Really awesome action scenes this time around again, and they even inserted JOINT in at the final moments of the battle. This episode is what we all really are looking out for in the Shana franchise. Girls with fiery swords kicking up massive whoopass, yeah!

However, it’s not all smooth sailing, and I must say the repeat of what happened last season where Shana tries but hesitates to say her feelings to Yuji strikes me off as a bit cheesy, and so was the ending portion of this episode, with everyone in a happy situation. Considering the series is going to reach an end soon, it feels kinda… weird.

What’s more, next episode preview seems to hint that the show will head back in to the romance drama angle…. not exactly the part I like about the series the most.

I haven’t seen how they presented the end of the fight for myself yet (nor read the novels) but I’ve seen some *possible but not confirmed* spoiler posts that hint it may be too early to write Sabrac off for dead…

They have season 3 to think about though =P. I don’t think he’ll be back before the end of this one. Neither will Pheles and Silver, I’m guessing. Hell, Bel Peol never made a proper appearance at all this season. Finally, I have no idea how they plan to handle Yuuji’s upcoming “change.”

That’s easy – have Shana shout ‘urusai’ at him a few more times, then he snaps and decides to be… not so wimpy.

The next episode is called “Christmas Eve”… isn’t that when Betty and VeronicaShana and Kazumi try to force him to choose between them?

And when he, um, goes through an alignment switch?

    Sweet.

Double post… dammit, my strikethrough tags didn’t work.

How do I do that again?

Ugh, sorry to hear next ep is back to the Love Triangle of Doom…I can’t believe 21 episodes into Shana II we’re actually BEHIND where we were at the end of season one with Shana and Yuuji. That “oh, I didn’t actually hear what you said back then” reset at the start of Shana II is one of the biggest facepalm-inducing moments I’ve seen in anime…

Well, I still think that the whole ‘what were you saying?’ thing again was just a way to set up Yuuji to… well, do what will have to happen sometime. By giving him an excuse to snap. ;)

Hmm, the romance drama angle in series one was what I enjoyed the most, the action scenes all being rather lifeless and dull. Probably explains why I was the only person who enjoyed the whole konoe arc too. However the action in series 2 is proving to be much more exciting than before, and using a good OP song in a battle automatically makes it 5 times more awesome!

Wtf you liked the lame boring pointless Konoe shana days part? Where Shana and Yoshida go crawl up to the roof and do nothing about Konoe, Yuji being a dumbass who can’t see anyones feelings, and haveing Shana and Yuji’s relationship reset. Jeeze Yuji seems to have 0 romantic feelings for either of them so if they both confess he’ll probalay choose no one. The battles are alot more exciting to me heh.
