Shana-tan II BEGINS!

Shana-tan BEGINS!

Yoshida-san….*drools*

Yes! More Shana-tan specials.

Not so LOL-inducing as the first season ones, but it’s more disturbing in a way. Ike has gone the stalker way, Yoshida-style. Yoshida herself shows a really pissed off face. Finally… ever wanted to know what was inside the book Marchosias dwells in? We now know it’s actually Margery’s picture diary… orz.

Shana-tan BEGINS!

“YOU BETRAYED MY FEELINGS!!!”

Going back out to the main storyline, Kyou and the rest decide to put their names down for the Theater Club, so the only thing remains is getting an advisor. They approach Koumura-sensei, but discover he’s already agreed to become the Choir Club’s advisor. Nagisa decides to give up after hearing Nishina Rie’s story, but Sunohara’s against it and decides to challenge them in a basketball competition, but Tomoya refuses. In the confusion, Sunohara’s imouto, Mei-chan arrives.

There was some pretty awesome moments this episode, especially at the end with Tomoya claiming Sunohara’s gay for him, and Nagisa proceeds to help him out by declaring herself as Tomoya’s lover, causing a huge shock to Sunohara. Poor Sunohara, XD.

Can’t wait to see more of Mei-chan though…. she’s pretty cute and there’s a definite tsundere air around here, hehe. LOL at Tomoya for assuming that she’s a demon child like her brother at first, the shock on his face when he sees her for the first time is really that of regret? Thankfully, she doesn’t take after her brother :).

H2O ~Footprints in the sand~ 04

H2O

Ouch.

Hamaji rocks my soul with his awesome trap.

Beach episode, hijinks ensues when Hamaji’s imouto, Yuki comes and she’s jealous of Hirose. Stereotypical development of Yuki drowning, gets partially saved by Hirose, and ends up thinking better of him… a bit.

Hirose also got sum DRAMATIC MOUTH-TO-MOUTH by Hamaji, and discovers later, after getting a full frontal, that Hamaji is really a guy. Laughter ensues… to be followed by the sound of a million facepalms of the guys who have fapped to Hamaji already. I swear though, I seriously swear to God, that Hamaji had boobs while he was in his mizugi.

H2O

Hirose: “I fapped to him… I fapped to him… I fapped to him… “

Episode ends on a more serious note, with a confrontation between Hayami, secretly arriving at the beach, Hirose and Hinata. The SD theater at the end remains pretty freaking awesome.

Shana II 15

Shana II

Shit starts to hit the fan this episode. Margery attempts to pull Silver out from Yuuji gets interrupted by Konoe, and Hecate joins in the fray as well, after retrieving Konoe, her fake vessel. Johann makes an appearance and briefly reunites with Pheles, before disappearing again. At the end of the battle, Pheles sets off for another journey, with a purpose that she can’t tell the rest of the gang.

Wow. I was completely speechless throughout the whole episode and a good 5 minutes after it. It was just that awesome, especially the action scenes. This episode probably had more action than the past 14 episodes combined, not to mention the quality of the fights were so high as well. The production team can really be awesome when they want to be.

With the main plot fully set in to motion here, I sure hope they can sustain this pace for the rest of the series. That being said, Yuuji is being rather useless throughout all this, and I really can’t help but to think of him as the token damsel-of-distress here, lol. Roughly 60% of his lines in the past 3 episodes have consisted of him screaming.

Also, I want a side-story arc or OVA of Pheles and Wilhelmina’s past together. The yuri vibes from them both are just so irresistible, especially since it’s a one-sided love of Wilhelmina there it seems.

Rosario+Vampire 04

Another boring episode. Aono basically realizes how useless he is, tries to leave, gets beaten up by a bunch of perverted fans, and gets his ass saved in the end by Super Vampire Moka. God, this week’s Monster-of-the-Week is damn kimoi…….

That being said, they changed the ED for some real animation this time, and oh boy, the new ED is freaking awesome, with naked, COOL & SPICY(sorry couldn’t resist, been watching Shugo Chara again) Super Vampire Moka and some awesome action scenes, ending with a shot of a chained Moka with group of evil looking people. Fits the ED song really perfectly. Suddenly, Dancing in the Velvet Moon is this season’s best ED, lol.

Rosario+Vampire

Moka <3!

Rosario+Vampire

This new ED sequence just rocks.

I wonder if the ED is foreshadowing a change of the series tone in the later episodes.

6 Nakahara Mai 715
7 Chihara Minori 642
8 Noto Mamiko 615
9 Hayashibara Megumi 553
10 Nonaka Ai 527

While I can only recognise 6 out of 10 of the males, the female list is pretty much familiar names to me. Bearing in mind that this is a reader’s choice survey, it’s not surprising that Horie Yui a.k.a Hocchan is on the top, considering her wide exposure lately. Hirano Aya and Mizuki Nana are pretty much the same, just probably that Hocchan has some true seiyuu’ing background which gives her a more legitimate backing.

Up-and-coming artists
1 Inoue Marina 1029
2 Miyano Mamoru 785
3 Chihara Minori 707
4 Ono Daisuke 571
5 Fujita Saki 498
6 Yonaga Tsubasa 456
7 Nakamura Yuuichi 422
8 Kobayashi Yuu 284
9 Katou Emiri 235
10 Shiraishi Minoru 223

I’ll partially disagree with hashihime here and say that Inoue Marina has done an admirable job in Minami-ke as Kana, who is basically the “boke” or funnyperson of the whole series, and her voicing of Kana really did bring her out to life. There’s something rather magical about her voice, really.

I’m surprised to see Ono Daisuke in this list though, considering that he’s been around for quite a while, but I guess it’s only recently his name has started to catch the attention of the fans. The rest of the list aren’t well known to me, except for Minorin (of course), Katou Emiri and Shiraishi Minoru (whom probably has quite a name for himself already).

…there are a number of female seiyuu not on the list that I would rate higher than anyone on it: Paku Romi, Kuwashima Houko, Kawasumi Ayako, Kobayashi Sanae, Yajima Akiko. I’d put Sawashiro Miyuki and Yukino Satsuki in there somewhere, too. And where the heck is the marvelous Koshimizu Ami?

Seconded, hashihime, seconded.

Moyashimon ends

Moyashimon

Oikawa sure gets a lot of female love ;)

Epic kiss (again), young adult existential woes and make-up hugs marks the finale of Moyashimon.

Truly a fun ride from start to finish, Moyashimon felt like a bit of Genshiken + Hachikuro dumped together with a agricultural-themed twist, totally different from my initial expectations of it being an “educational” anime.

No doubt, the bacteria took a backseat very quickly in the show, as we got absorbed in to the relationships of the cast members, but that was what made me love the show a lot. Still, that’s not to say the anime wasn’t totally ignoring the original theme, as I now know which bacteria makes sake and bread. Sometimes I swear I see some A.Orzyae on my bread.

Moyashimon was also supported by a rather strong cast, with Sayaka Ohara making her presence well felt with her role as Hasegawa. Noto-sama did a very fun role as Aoi Mutou as well. The combo of Katsuyuki Konishi and Noriaki Sugiyama was always fun to watch as the “gokiburi” brothers too.

Definitely one of the gems of last year, I’m glad to have watched and finished Moyashimon. It really had some fun and informative moments, peppered with lots of nice drama as well too. Having those cute chibi bacteria was awesome as well, and I might help myself to some goods if I ever find any on sales. Here’s to hoping for more Moyashimon this year :).

Moyashimon

See you guys again, hopefully

In the meantime, would be awesome if someone scanlated the manga ;).
