true tears just gets more and more beautiful by the episode….
Walking back together, Hiromi tells Shinichiro about her crush on Hotarugawa’s No.4, which pains Shinichiro a lot. The next day, he leaves home early, attempting to avoid Hiromi, and finds himself dragged along to shopping by Ai-chan, buying clothes and eating together. Shinichiro talks about his misunderstanding of Hiromi’s feelings and Ai-chan tries her best to cheer him up, but shows a face of sadness when he leaves to buy drinks.
When he comes back, Hiromi asks Shinichiro if he’s avoiding her because of what happened, and he replies in a way that hurts both him and her a lot. Their conversation is ended by Mrs. Nakagami, who comments to Hiromi that her eyes look exactly like her mom.
The next day, Shinichiro bumps in to Noe after school, and he gets dragged around by her as well. He listens to the reason why Noe is collecting tears, is because her grandmother took them away to the sky when she “went” up there. After spending the day with her, he’s cheered up enough and picks up his spirits again.
The next morning, he wakes up and bumps into Hiromi at the washbasin. He apologises about yesterday, and gets too absorbed in it to notice he put cleaning foam on his toohbrush instead of toothpaste. Hiromi runs off to get her handphone and takes a picture of Shinichiro with foam in his mouth, mentioning that she rarely sees it outside of manga and bursts in to laughter. Shinichiro is happy as well, as he is able to make her laugh.
Heading out for school, Hotarugawa’s No.4 is waiting for Shinichiro and introduces himself as Isurugi Jun, Noe’s brother. They exchange greetings and Shinichiro is surprised when he asks him to go out with Noe.
(Trying out a new blogging style for true tears, summary will be in blockquotes, my opinions after it)
A rollercoaster-ride episode this week was, as the starting half was really intense, especially when Shinichiro’s listening to Hiromi about Jun, and also when Hiromi asks him if he’s avoiding her. The subsequent conversation was just…. truly painful to both of them, and was even conveyed to the viewer as well. Definitely, I felt both Shinichiro’s pain when he tries to cover up his own (self-mistaken) feelings for Hiromi, and Hiromi’s pain as she listens to such thorny words.
Then the episode changes for a more lighter tone after that, and Noe is definitely the “angel” of the series. I really felt grateful for her to notice Shinichiro’s depression and attempts to lift his spirits up more. It seems she might not be consciously doing it, but she really did a great job on it.
It also looks like Noe might not even be realizing her developing feelings for him yet, and Jun seems to want to give it a small push as well. Though I must say… one scene in this episode really makes me suspect that Jun has some form of strong attachment to his sister, though I not daresay it’s “inappropriate” yet. We’ve seen too little of him yet.
As for Ai-chan, it’s clearly shown that she has romantic feelings of sorts for Shinichiro, but it seems she’s content to keeping it in the current status quo of “onee-chan, otouto” relationship. There’s also her relationship with Miyokichi as well….
Still, I’m rooting for a Shinchiro x Hiromi ending for this series, and seeing her lighten up at the end of the episode actually made me feel happy as well. Aaaa~~ Hiromi-chan’s so cute. The next episode seems to go in to a more serious direction, and it seems we might know more about Hiromi’s parents too.
Happy Hiromi makes me happy too :)
Wow I spent almost 40 minutes to write this post.
