Shinichiro was quite the rascal.
I’m falling in love with Hiromi more and more.
After the apology by Hiromi last week, this week, Shinichiro finds himself getting more and more red seeds from Noe, placing them just about everywhere in school, annoying the hell out of him. Wanting to have a word with her, he tries to catch her after school, but finds her getting on the bike of a guy and misunderstands their relationship.
He proceeds to Ai-chan’s store afterwards, getting ready for his dance class, and gets a little lecture in female emotions by her, as they head for his dance class, Ai-chan bringing a lunch box for the members. Thanks to the lecture, Shinichiro starts thinking that Hiromi’s “favor” was actually a chance for her to get closer to him, and returns home with a very obvious smile on his face.
At home, his mom is asking Hiromi to deliver a bottle of sake to a customer’s home. Shinichiro grabs the bottle and heads out instead, followed by Hiromi. Shinichiro’s father walks in and admonishes his wife on the matter, eliciting a cruel reply that Hiromi isn’t her daughter.
As they walk together, Shinichiro makes small talk and brings up the incident that Hiromi was recalling last episode. Unexpectedly, she says she can’t remember the incident and thanks Shinichiro for coming with her instead.
Hiromi reminisces on the incident again, this time for more longer, and she ends the flash back, saying that she has decided to seal it all when she came to live with the Nakagami household. Shinichiro continues work on his budding picture book, but falls asleep, and has a weird dream.
The next day, Noe leaves a trail of red seeds all the way to Shinichiro’s class, and he faces off with her, telling her to stop it. Noe asks him to help her down the tree, but Shinichiro refuses, so she jumps down instead. Blackmailing him to give her a piggyback ride, they both head to the gym, where a friendly basketball match is being held.
It turns out the guy that Shinichiro saw earlier is Noe’s brother, studying in the other school. Shinichiro is worried about Hiromi misunderstanding him piggybacking Noe and decides to explain to her, but overhears her saying she loves Hiromi’s brother instead. Walking away, Hiromi bumps in to Shinichiro, making a surprised face when she realises he heard it.
I wonder why did Hiromi “seal” away her feelings for Shinichiro when she was taken in by their family. It seems to me that she loves him very much, but yet, for some reason she’s trying not reveal it instead. Rather, she’s trying to distance herself from him instead, in a very painful way too. That shocked expression of hers at the end was truly a impactful one. Somehow, I’m finding that very moe of her. I sure hope the reason she’s doing that isn’t a lameass one, but I have high hopes towards the director.
The most interesting part of the episode was probably Ai-chan’s lecture of girl’s feelings towards Shinichiro. She hasn’t been getting much screentime, and most of it has been used to set her up with Nobuse, so it was about time that she gets some development. Looks like she has feelings for Shinichiro as well, but to what extent, isn’t really revealed yet.
Noe herself is still as enigmatic as usual, but her childishness is a fun thing to watch at the least, and she provides the humor of the episode, with her seed delivery service and another weird song of hers. It’s truly funny that she’s singing “There’s a cockroach on Shinichiro’s back~”, while she’s being piggybacked by him.
