Actually “cannon” is really hard to sort out in the Eva universe. The original anime had the conflict of “cannon” ending. Is ep 25/26 cannon or EoE. The manga is created by gainax and approved by the other creators. Also the PS2 game was written with a different ending by gainax was was stated in interviews to be cannon. The Rebuild is recreated by the entire original team pretty much making it cannon. I think it is because eva is such an expansive and interpretation based story that it is left up to the view to take away a bigger picture from all these different views on the story. So Long story short eva 06 will be cannon this year. (sorry for the rant)

Actually after Seele began construction on the mass production evas the development of Units 05 and 06 was scrapped and the unfinished evas were used to repair Unit 00 and 02 after their fight with Zeruel.
The canon units are
Unit 00, prototype, Pilot Rei
Unit 01, Test type, Pilot Shinji
Unit 02, 03, 04 Production models, Pilot Asuka, Pilot Toji, destroyed during the S2 engine test.
Unit 05 and 06 scrapped production models mentioned in passing by Misato, never officially given pilots but according to some artwork from Gainax the pilots are Hikari and Kensuke.
Units 05-13 (or 12 I honestly don’t remember) are the Mass Production Evas we see in EoE.

Wait, wait, the production types are in? Historically one is lost to a S2 engine mishap, the other gets possessed by Bardiel. I wonder how they would fit them in, given the fact that the movies will introduce a new ending…

And excuse me, Unit 06? The canon units stop at the type-05s (the Winged Vultures of Doom in EoE), and even the Steel Girlfriend games stop there (Kaworu, if I remember right, gets the MP-05, though in SRW Alpha 3 he gets Reigouki for the Gendou smackdown). I wonder if it will be the ‘testbed’ version to the FA-EVA01 we seen in the artbooks and Alpha 3.

I only saw the second half of that. The first half is lost in cyberspace anywhere I go. Shinji is supposed to be more like his manga counterpart. Stronger and less dormat like. =D I liked how they changed mr. blue cube to something cooler. It freaked me out how it screamed everytime it was threatened or when it died (past midnight watching that part not good for me).

It’s awesome to see evangelion again in amazing graphics. Damn, I wish i can see the whole thing now!
