When I first watched it, it was boring..
Especially in the first 2 episodes..
And I even thought of dropping the anime..
Glad I didn’t do that..
It got better at the end..

The animation is great and the music is good too..
Unlike in other bishoujo games/anime, there are more than 1 male lead character..
Above all, I like the idea of of putting 2 separate stories together..

Definitely one of the best anime of Fall 2007..

I certainly agree with Kurogane-san. I enjoyed Chihiro’s side of the story a lot.
That scene at the school roof scared me though, I took her idea of “suicide” to be quite literal.
I thought ef had a lot to be praised for. The animation and story telling was really distinctive and really really well done. The music was also exceptional. But what I really liked was Chihiro’s novel. I found it quite intriguing.

Just want to point out Chihiro’s condition while rare is not unheard of. The amount of short term memory retention varies case by case but the condition Chihiro’s condition does exist and there are even extreme cases then Chihiro’s.

You’re just judging the book by its cover then.

In fact, I gave up Baccano! on the first episode initially myself, before I actually finished it much later.

Give ef another try, skip the first episode if you want to. The real deal of ef is towards the middle and the end.

Tried to watch this show, I really, truly did. I’ve sat down and tried my hardest to get through the first episode on three separate occasions. First time I got really bored and annoyed at the show’s style, and this comes from a fan of Zetsubou and PPD! Second time I got angry when I realized I just wasted my time watching the stuff that made me angry the first time around. The third time was when I showed it to me friend, but we both quit and watched Baccano instead.

I can’t imagine the show getting so much better than the first episode to chage my mind, but power to the people who enjoyed this pretentious dreck.

Because of this post’s final words (since I usually see short sentences in the end as non-spoil) it inspired me to take a look. After seeing it, I can now easily say it’s the best drama I’ve seen so far.

Awesome series. Never had seen an anime this emotional in months. Great VA work, nice music, awesome visuals = classic.

Kurogane: As well done as ef was, I only enjoyed it half the time. I guess it’s a personal thing. I enjoy Shaft more when they’re being off the wall rather than serious.

OMG, I that was realy realy dumb XD.

I confused the names from another show … gya*. (never do more then 2 thing at the same time: noted)

Hinako is Miyako and Mei is Kei …. so it should be…
