“Envious position there, mate.”

I’m so late this week I watched SS-E’s release ;_;.

Kotomi finally returns the violin to the music room and makes friends with Rie Nishina. Kotomi is also starting to attend back classes normally, to the relief of Tomoya and the rest. She also continues to take tsukkomi lessons from Kyou… albeit still failing miserably.

The next weekend, Kyou drags them off for an outing, and they greatly enjoy it. Even Fuko made an abrupt appearance in the middle of it, lol. Rather surprising actually. The day’s end is marred by the mysterious guy who appears in front of Kotomi again.

The second half starts on a rather serious note, with Nagisa bringing bad news of a bus accident possibly involving Ryou. They rush to the scene and find her thankfully safe, because she took the bus after the one in the accident, Kyou hugging her in a moment of relief. Kotomi however, breaks down upon seeing the accident and starts shouting. The four of them bring her to the infirmary.

The quartet attempt to visit her at the infirmary and at home, but it fails. Tomoya remembers something about Kotomi’s house however and checks it out again, only to meet the old man again. He confronts him and explains that he was a friend of Kotomi’s parents who discovered evidence of a hidden world He asks Tomoya to pass a message of regret to her.

Tomoya continues back to Kotomi’s house, entering via the garden and discovers Kotomi sitting in a room.. filled with newspaper clippings. Memories flood back in him… and he realizes they’ve met in their childhood.

Ah… that was a rather short transition from the happy moments to the serious ones. Looks like Kotomi’s parents are researchers of the Superstring theory, based on the Calabi-Yau manifold reference, thus the hidden world mentioned probably refers to the collapsed n dimensions stated in the theory. Well, there’s your geek moment of the week.

Another reference I’d like to bring up is Kotomi’s line of “Day before yesterday I saw a rabbit, and yesterday a deer, and today, you.”, which apparently is taken from The Dandelion Girl. Going to take a read at the story when I have the time. I wonder how much will it fortell Kotomi’s arc.

I did mention her screaming… and yeah, I do believe that was one of the more heart-wrenching ones I’ve heard from Noto Mamiko yet.

As for Fuko’s reappearance… well, she’s not dead yet lol. And if they do want to do the Good End, she’ll still be alive of course.

And no more CLANNAD till 01/10… they had to stop at a cliffhanger episode T.T

SS-Eclipse version is better anyway. :O So you didn’t miss out by being late.

I’ve been smirking on other blogs that Fuuko is just abusing her ghost powers now by appearing whenever she so decides. ^^; I love every time she does appear, but I’m sure some Kami-sama is like “Fuuko… that’s not why I granted you a miracle.”

Kotomi has become tremendously more human .. and one of those ‘beware the quiet, thoughtful type’ geniuses. But I’m glad she has friends now to protect her when things appear to start breaking down.

“It bends here.” “They fall off.” Is that a pun? ^^; I can’t tell why it’s funny. But a doubled-over Kotomi in laughter really shows off her nice figure.

Kyou said that if anything happened to Ryou, she’d know it immediately. Is that just a twin thing?

And thanks for the geekery. :3 I should read into superstring theory more now.

Interesting theory, I’ll check it out to be a little informed. Anyway, a few things about Kotomi are clear now. Her parents are dead (or dissapear), then she try to close herself fro meveyone else until Tomoya came back to her life. Damn it, two weeks of no-Clannad; I don’t know if my mind will handle it.

BTW, the Golden Compass sucks, I waste 1 hour and 40 minutes of my life on it. See you…

    >>Kyou said that if anything happened to Ryou, she’d know it immediately. Is that just a twin thing?

Probably. There are many reports of a telepathic connection between twins, so when she mentioned that, I already suspected Ryou’s fine.

    >>That “hidden world”, perhaps they were referring to the other world with the girl in white and the garbage doll.

I thought so too, but in this context it’s referring to the collapsed n dimensions that are the basis of the superstring theory.

Basically, superstring theory posits that the world is actually made of 10, 11 or 23 dimensions (the three main theories), but since we can only perceive 4 dimensions (length, height, width and time), the additional dimensions are “collapsed” or “hidden” from us.

Well, in another way, you can say the world of the garbage doll and the girl is also another “Hidden” world as well.

Interestingly, I’d like to add, I started to learn about Superstring theory from Ah! My Goddess.

    >>BTW, the Golden Compass sucks, I waste 1 hour and 40 minutes of my life on it. See you…

Kinda true, the story was butchered basically. The lead heroine was still pretty awesome though…

    >> The Dandelion Girl.
Just read it, took about 45 minutes or so. Interesting Story, dont tell me kotomi is from the future?! Or from some other dimension or something! lol

    >>BTW, the Golden Compass sucks, I waste 1 hour and 40 minutes of my life on it. See you…

The Golden Compass movie was really butchered, they removed the last 3 chapters, and then proceeded to remove tons more stuff from the rest of the chapters. Golden Compass probably would have did better as a TV miniseries, getting like 5 or 6 two hour episodes.

I suggest everyone buy the audio book from (or amazon). It has a full cast, full music, etc. Its like the radio dramas of old. Its really good. Golden Compass is a 13+ hour audio book. The other two books are equally awesome (though i like the last two better than golden compass…)

Oh, i am new here, hello! lol Clanad is just awesome. It reminds me a lot of Kanon. Nice Reviews/Previews! thanks!
