Is it me, or is Reika conspicuously flat in this cover?

Yay! It’s finally out! I’ve been waiting for it for a long time! You won’t believe how deep Yubikiri was stuck in my head for the past few weeks.

Well, sad to say that Yubikiri full version was rather disappointing to me, since I felt it lost the “oomph” and beat of the TV version in the conversion to the full 3 minutes version. Sometimes, I feel that they write the songs for the TV version first, then only haphazardly make the song longer for the single :(.

On the other hand, the full version Furefurepponpon still manages to keep the “oomph” and beat of the TV version throughout the song and I must say, I can’t stop looping the song for now. In fact, I’m on my 20th round as I’m writing this lol. Fure fure~ adorena-escalation!

Gotta say too, the jacket design is done in the old fashioned way too, so it really makes me nostalgic somewhat, of the era where “cheap fanservice” shows were the dominant genre. Not that I want that era back, but well, my moe sense was fashioned during those times, so it just brings me back :P.

Oh great. Priecia continues being emo-hime again. If that’s not bad enough, they made her turn emo enough until she was about to get raped by two guys, fully conscious yet not resisting. Thankfully she gets rescued by Sister He.. err I mean, a kind lady named Theresa passing by, who likes to grow tomatoes for orphans.

Thus begins Priecia’s journey of self-discovery by trying to plant tomatoes and playing with orphans, while all her friends are worried sick about her disappearing without notice.

Well, Siste.. I mean Theresa was kinda awesome to compensate for it.

I’ll have to hand it to Daisuke Ono… only he can pull gay and weird characters like Hosaka off this well.

Also, Haruka-sama’s kami no shita waza is awesome! Give yourself 10 points if you got the play of words there ;).

Slowly, but surely, Fuuko starts to be forgotten by everyone else, except Nagisa and Tomoya.

Ninomiya-kun makes ramen. I never knew that making ramen was this hard.

The usual 30-sec starter continues from last episode’s Binyuu Sokushin Kyokai, who are now worshipping Reika. “SIEG HOUJOU!!!” LULZ. Poor Mayu is depressed and tries to compress her boobs using bandages (mmm). But too bad, her boobs are much too big in mass to hide already, XD.

Easily the best character song album for Lucky Star. This was truly a definition of a “character song single”.

The first song, “Shiawase Negau Kanata kara” (lit. “Wishing Happiness from afar”) is Kanata’s solo song, done to the tune of the BGM that accompanied her appearance in episode 22. It’s a nice, slow touching song, that sings on Kanata’s hopes and wishes for her family.

Next song, “Onna ha Yume to Musume dake” is Soujirou’s character song, and in spirit with his character, it truly sounds… how should I put it? Gaudy? As a friend of mine puts it, it sounds like a Cantopop song from the 80′s. Not too bad, once you get used to it.

And the last song, “Sekai ga Kiete mo Aishiteru” is a Soujirou x Kanata duet song, and it’s another awesome song, with both of them singing in their character voices, about the journey of their love. Best part of the song has to be when Kanata asks “What’s otaku?” in the middle of the song.

Haruka Bancho!

Emo Priecia is emo ._.

So they finally decided to start on the war in the story. But they had to make Priecia so emo. What was with that questioning of Hyaweh about his feelings for her and going emo when he replied he liked her? Sigh…. their relationship was going on a nice way last episode, but they had to develop it in to this :(.

What makes it worse was the cinematography this episode, with all their weird profile cut-ins and such. Did they run out of budget already? Adding in salt to the wound, was how damn cheesy the fight was in the episode, what with Priecia going emo and trying to “sacrifice herself” and Hyaweh going Super Saiyan once Priecia got pwned. They could’ve handled it more properly :(.
