Saimoe 2007

Congratulations! Niii~paa~~~

Wooo~ Nipaa~ Congratulations to Rika for winning this year’s Saimoe. At the least it wasn’t another of the older series, like the one with the dolls.

It has not been a particularly happy Saimoe this year for me, with multiple upsets and disappointments, plus lots of retarded dorama all around as usual, but I am proud to have completed my personal objective of covering this year’s Saimoe without fail, even through all the sh*t that has happened. I thank all my blog readers who have followed my postings and expressed support for me during some dark times. As for next year, that will have to depend on my personal feelings :).

Lastly, I would like to say… WOOT, I’M FINALLY DONE WITH THIS!!!

I am not sure if Rika could have won if that guy on Animesuki has not managed to get about over twenty of his lab comrades to vote Nipah.

This was a Saimoe were every single votes did count. Too bad retarded faction politics fagged it up.

and i know it depends on your feeling kuro. but i’ll be pleased if you do it again next year. Higu-kai characters are surely out next year. and Kagami still have chance to win next year (so does some of my favourites). i love the tension of this tournament. it pleases me to see the voter’s reactions and stuff :P

    See you again in 2008

lol figures. Obviously Nagi fans (who had like three chances with Shana and Louise to win damn people…) will be upset. Doll fans are probably made too. I’m glad Rika won. It’s interesting. Maybe this will stop all the revenge and strategy voting to such an extent. That is what screwed out so many of the stronger characters out of the tournament. I also wonder if a certain infamous person wasn’t around trolling if LS characters would have gotten further. 2ch also has to blame themselves for the cheating with Shinku. Interesting SaiMoe.

 Oh the match is over. I personally didn’t care which character won, as neither is very exciting IMHO.

Next year shall be the year of “cool and spicy” Amu or so I hope. More likely it will probably be the same old characters, as Hayate, Nanoha, Lucky Star, and Higurashi characters are still eligible. Rozen Maidens are out as of now, but maybe we will get a suprise OVA or Movie before Saimoe 2008. Also have to wonder how Potemayo will do next year, as the show seems to have a scary, cult following.

WOAH, i actually dreamt recently that I came to your blog and read that Nagi had won… to my utter disbelief. Just waking up now to find out that Rika has emerged the champ and pinching myself to see if it’s real… LOL. Congrats to nii-pah for this one (though she probably won THIS year thanks to the emergence of dark Rika :P) Also thanks kurogane for continuing the coverage to the end, without which Saimoe would’ve totally escaped my radar, and I wouldn’t have experienced the ‘joys’ (and pains) of voting this year :P

So you want them to have a 4th season/OVA next year?
Then Nanoha must change the title to Mahou Sensei and not Mahou Shoujo… 20yrs?

And oh yeah, I also want to thank Kurogane for the coverage. Until next year.

Still mad that Kagami lost though… Oh well, I hope we get a Lucky Star S2 so they can compete in next years Seimoe!

And yeah kuro. thanks for those updates.

にぱー(nipaa) is one of 擬態語(gitaigo) of “smile” like にこにこ (nico nico),にやにや(niyaniya),にかっ(nika),にんまり(ninmari),けらけら(kerakera)etc.

These have different shades of meaning.

    >> I would really rather most of the other top 8 to be final, but… rika’s my favorite Higurashi character… soo… I guess I’m glad?

Yeah, Rika is not that bad as a champion. I like to think that the outcome of this saimoe has been hilarious because:

#1. While Japan’s vote ratio clearly made Nagi winner, it was the foreign votes that tipped the balance in Rika’s favor.

#2. With a combination of luck and low profile from her fans, Rika slipped under a lot of people’s radar. She did not gained that much hate, unlike L*S characters or RM faction (the former gained too much attention after Mad Dog’s antics (to name one reason), the latter gained lot of hate after Desu and a well-known place of internet). Everyone were too busy tactical, hate and revenge vote their asses off.

But last, not least, I have felt a lot of passion from Rika fans in the final, Nagi fans’ efforts are also comparable but in the end, it was Rika’s that paid off.

I don’t like Rika. She’s not even a good loli type.
My definition of moe – hot!! hot!! flaming hot!! burning!!
at least that’s what moe means literally.
that’s why tsundere character fit perfectly.
    We gaijins f**k it up.
