This isn’t KyoAni’s fault.

It has everything to do with the stations airing the content and the formats they choose to run. They deserve the blame–and they deserve a LOT of it for doing such crappy work.

oh well i don’t really mind, its just that all my kyo ani collection has been in widescreen, so i thought it would be better if this one was. But seriously, if it means watching and not watching i would watch any size or version of this ^^

You guys seem to be assuming the animation team have absolute control over what’s shown. It’s a wild guess, but perhaps some group having nothing to do with KyoAni wanted them to make 4:3 first and foremost.

Quite a lot of spoiled animu brats out these days. *sigh* -_-);

Well, there can only be one reason why they decide to air the first run in 4:3, and then the 16:9 in non-HD quality: To sell more DVDs.

The WS screens just look… wider (doh). I mean, it just looks more spacious around everyone. That’s a good thing, instead of seeing everyone getting crammed into small frames.
