It totally changed the way I thought about the series. It was surprisingly a very good ending, although I felt the wrong girl died in the end. As an rant of what I thought about the protagonists, here we go: If anyone was at fault in this series it was Makoto's and his alone. Absolute bastard. Deserved the bloody end he got and deserved to be carved to pieces by Kotonoha. I could probably write a book on how much I hated the character (the ignorant piece of shite). This guy was only in it for himself from start to finish, whether it was Kotonoha, Sekai, or any of the other girls, he was only interested in their bodies and not their feelings. Sekai wasn't at all to blame, she gave him what he wanted all the way through (including Kotonoha), but when she finally gets him, he goes and betrays her time and time again. If there was something I didn't like about her was that she was so open to her love with Makoto despite knowing her so called best friend Setsuna being in love with him first. She certainly didn't deserve to die though. Kotonoha was mental to the core and I didn't understand why she was so infatuated with Makoto in the first place - initially she said it only to be an interest, but then she was willing to kill for him in the end? Hmmm... Sekai trying to seduce him? No. Makoto-the-Nob was the one who was fed up with Kotonoha and was trying his perverse luck with Sekai, not the other way around. I didn't like her clingy attitude, especially when she clearly didn't like the way Makoto was treating her at the beginning of it all. The only other character I'd like to mention is Otome; this is because she was the only SANE character in the series. She was in love with Makoto, has a go, realises he's not what she fell in love with him for and GIVES UP. Well done Otome. Well, the writers really outdid themselves with this one, whether it was based on a game or not... Always good to have a love triangle, some psychos and some gushing blood, eh? I'm glad Makoto got what he deserved, as for Sekai, I think that she should have been allowed to live in the end, dispite the fact that she was the root of all of Kotonoha's problems and misery. I regret hat Kotonoha could never be with her true love, but in the end i found joy in the fact that she was content to be with (what was left of) Makoto Itou.
