Byousoku 5cm LE DVD arrived!!!

キタ━━━━(゚∀゚)━━━━ !!!!!

Arrived earlier this week, but wasn’t around to get it. Now I can finally make a “merchandise show-off” post, hahahaha!

The version I ordered is the Limited Edition one, and all in all it cost me almost 7000 yen, which equates to around RM200 locally. My father was definitely not very pleased about it… but oh well, I’ve done my part to support the industry!

The whole package basically consists of the movie itself on one DVD, with an extras DVD bundled in along with the movie’s original soundtrack CD. There’s also a pamphlet for the movie along with an original filmpiece for the movie…. which I got of a few scenes of a train moving in to the station (OTL… was hoping for the trademark Akari swinging-around shot in the beginning, but oh well….).

Anyways, here are pics of it, as per traditions of this type of post. I’ll not go more in to detail, but for those looking for a sub for B5C, head over here to get one.

The DVD box front…

… and the back of it.

The two DVD’s.

The movie DVD along with the included filmstrip.

The filmstrip in more detail.

The second DVD…

… and the third one.

And finally, the booklet.

Also, my Megami 87’s arrived in the same week. Slow SAL is sloooooow. Yes, I bought two copies, thanks to the Kagamin and Konata poster. Now I’ll have to wonder what to do with the extra copy…. anyone in KL interested to buy it?

LoL! Nice set for the DVDs. If not for me being broke buying other stuff, I would have gotten it. Guess I’ll save up for it and hopfully I can get it. And I can’t agree more with saturnine’s quote. So true indeed…

Don’t worry; the last May when I was on California, I spend almost US$ 600 on anime DVDs… my mother wasn’t very pleased, but she knows how much I like it, so… I guess my mother could have been a great otaku…

i live in Toronto Canada, is the DVD Region 1? can i watch it here? also, where can i buy it online?

@Inana: No, it’s a Region 2 DVD, but then it shouldn’t be hard to find players that play it ;). And yes, you can buy it online at the usual retailers.

R1 DVD is coming in December, AFAIK, but it’s not going to be in my interest anyways :).

actually you can get a cheaper price from hmv. it’ll only cost you around 6.1K yen (using ems shipment).

Never heard of that site. Where is it? “hmv” isn’t exactly a good search term.

sorry abt that. here is the url:
i’m a regular customer for both cdjapan & hmv, so no need to worry abt the reliability of hmv. it’s great, the only bad thing is not all of the anime titles is available at hmv.

I just checked it out…. 6.1k yen for DVD + EMS shipping???

in the future, if you plan to get a 1st pressing edition or limited edition dvd from hmv, you need to preorder it fast. as far as i know, the quantity is kinda limited. *darker than black vol.2 – 1st pressing was already sold out in hmv, luckily i preodered it already last month.

Kurogane, how much were you taxed for this DVD ?
I’ve refrained from thoughts of online purchases due to taxes,
    buying mostly from Kinokuniya instead.

Didn’t got taxed for it. As far as I know, buying magazines or DVD’s online don’t get taxed. Although electronic consoles do get taxed, I heard.

Hey, thanks for your prompt reply.
I’ll keep that in my mind when I order the regular edition.
