Tsundere definitely doesn’t mean bipolar. It just means a naturally disagreeable person who then has conflict with loving feelings toward another person. They want to keep their personality and reputation, but they don’t enjoy hurting the person they care about. However, to cover it all up, they’ll be even meaner toward that person. Bipolar people zip back and forth, but once a tsundere admits their feelings to the person, they generally stay nice. Keep in mind, it’s not always a romantic relationship, but in some cases the tsundere just wants to be friends with the person.

Translating tsundere into bipolar is a BIG mistake.

Yum, a chocolate glazed version. Twice the chocolate, nice idea.

There is a bakery where I typically buy melonpan. By a strange coincidence since Lucky Star started, they have been making less melonpan and more chocolate horns. I sense a conspiracy. A delicious, chocolatey conspiracy.

The Sun Moulin Café and Bakery at 1Utama, Damansara sells chocolate coronets. However they only bake a few each day (except weekends, which they bake more).

Dunno, I’m not bitching about “choco cornet” is because I’ve never seen them in my place before, so I don’t even know they existed until LS came along, same goes with melonpan.

Konata literally calls them “choco cornet” anyways, so it’s not that noticeable. Of course, if you wanna call them according to their shape, it’s a given, but nothing’s wrong with a different name, to me.

It’s based on the shape. The thing she’s eating is definitely what every bakery seems to call a chocolate horn. I gather something actually spiral shaped would be called a chocolate spiral, and so on and so forth. I gather “coronet” is purely a relic of the limitations of trying to write a word in katakana.

I’ve seen several variations of the same type of pastry: chocolate cornets, chocolate coronets, chocolate horns, chocolate spirals, chocolate snails (no, really). There’s no definite ‘correct’ Western equivalent.
