Third You’re Under Arrest Anime announced

Via Anime News Network.

The July issue of Kodansha‘s Monthly Afternoon magazine (on sale May 25) announced that a new television anime adaptation of Kōsuke FujishimaYou’re Under Arrest police comedy manga is in production. The issue also previewed artwork being drawn for the series.

Onetime Gunbuster mechanical designer and Burst Angel director Kōichi Ōhata will direct, and Natsuko Takahashi (Spiral, Gakuen Heaven) will oversee the scripts. Although Ōhata and Takahashi are new to the You’re Under Arrest franchise, Atsuko Nakajima (Ranma ½, GetBackers) will return to adapt Fujishima’s characters as she did for every animated incarnation since the original video series.

A bit unexpected, but I’m nonetheless happy about it. Reminiscing back on, You’re Under Arrest was my first serious anime and probably the starter of my otaku road. While the second season was less than inspiring, here’s to hoping that the third season shall fare better, I still have a small crush on Miyuki in my heart ;).

I’m surprised they’re making more, but I’m definitely happy–the You’re Under Arrest OVA was, I think, the third or fourth anime VHS tape I ever bought, and it’s hard not to like Miyuki.

What a great news… more of Natsuki and Miyuki….
Maybe finally Nakajima has the balls to confess his love….

SWEET! YUA is my favorite series!

I wonder if they will pickup after the 2nd season, or continue the timeline after the movie?

My very first Fansub anime was Ep1 of YUA with Aoi changing in the women’s locker room. It was my first time at a anime club and that was the first thing i saw.

It is any wonder i am as warp as i am now :D

hi Kurogane, actually i’ve been reading your blog for a period of time, may i ask a question?
Where did you got the torrents of the anime?I searched hard recently(through Google and http://www.torrentz.com) and only to found the torrents(subbed) release is always a week later than the TV’s broadcasting time.
In other words, when you posted a thread on your blog about LuckyStar07,there’s only LuckyStar06’s torrents on internet can be found. Is this a matter of the speed of the subgroup or just i’ve got to the wrong sites?Or is that you just watch the RAW?(I’m Chinese and in my country it usually takes 10-20 hours for a subgroup to finish one episode(Japanese->Chiness))
And I found that all the torrents are *.avi or something bigger, the English subgroups don’t use the RMVB?,when it only sizes about 100mb(about half the size) with the same quality?

I’ll be looking forward to it. Aoi is a pantheon-level trap.

ps. Kuro, those kind of comments are best deleted, IMHO.

I must comment to KonW about recommendation to use .rmvb video format instead of .avi or .mkv,DivX,XviD or similar. Please you all fansubbers, don`t do anything like that, because i like to watch my anime in a big TV from DVD-R discs and none of my four DVD players can play rmvb video.Same goes for Matroska/mkv,Ogg,and some other formats.I prefer DivX, AVI,or MPEG formats for compatibility and,i dare to say, quality.
