The Nagato reference was to episode 9 (14), when there is a three minutes scene of Nagato reading while a radio plays in the background.

Add: When Konata showed the twins her birthday presents, she had two different plastic bags of blue and orange – according to my seasoned otaku friend, those are an obvious reference to Animate and COSPA or something to that effect.

Episode 5 aired on May 28th. If I remember correctly, uniform change occurs right after Golden Week (covered in Episode 3.)

The spring anime season runs from April to June, and the last episode of Haruhi didn’t air until early July, so there’s no contradiction there. Though if you take “long-winded Nagato scenes” to refer to episode 5, which aired in early May, you might have something…
