[...] Despite first reading about the numerous negative comments on blogs about the first few episodes of Lucky Star, when I watched it I actually found it pretty funny (there are some good reviews, though rare, such as this one). Four moe school girls, one of them an otaku? KyoAni’s really pandering to the “niche” crowd here (”niche” meaning just about every single anime gamer).
Well, I loved it.
^^;
It makes sense to me, I guess cuz my friends and I are rather random like that.
Its kinda like The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Azumanga Daioh combined!
XD
I love both those animes. lol.

What do you mean the first ep of tMoSH was bad? It was very smart and entertaining...

Anyway, the jokesub on TT had some good points. "Why are we watching this instead of a second season of Haruhi? Because the animators need a vacation, and otaku will eat this stuff up." Or whatever it was.

And why is it that I have to switch to IE in order to post on this site?

Subs just out. Perhaps way too rushed in some parts (about the med exam thing) and way to stretched out (for the bun thing) at some parts. But then again experiences with alcohol shows that these thing do need time to age after all. Something to watch for those who had seen the Di Gi Charat series.

[...] -edited because I reworded a sentence. -edit #2: It’s getting unbelievably popular now; people here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here. Quite notably, almost all of them give a lot of focus on the OP dance, which makes complete sense. [...]

Hm? It met my expectations, though. I expected an Azumanga Daioh styled type of show. They even had a small reference to Street Fighter 2 in this ep along with the author himself at the extra segment. Oh, and all the seiyuus did a good job here, especially Aya-chan. I think many people should wait for the subs in this case, since it's more dialogue based.

PS: Yeah, the OP rocks!

So, yeah, I watched it raw. After looping the OP quite a few times of course.

Meh. It was ok. But since after watching it I was left thinking it could totally use some loli yuri porn, maybe it's not as good as we wished it would be. Also, it's sporting some QUALITY here and there right from the very first episode... did they waste most of the budget on the OP? At least such a radical change in style might be the right thing to remove the "KyoAni" sign we branded it with at first, and maybe if we watch it the next episode without having that in mind, it might turn out to be more enjoyable.

Anyways, it's good pointing out that I'm quite amazed at Aya Hirano's performance (wtf is with that "Aaya" spelling, kuro?). At first I was very skeptical about her doing Konata, since I couldn't really picture her doing a different voice aside from Haruhi, Sanae or Lumiere... but wow, did she really pull quite the performance there. You could barely feel a hint of any of them in her voice, and it also fits Konata down to a T (whatever that means).

ps. Also, I loled at Minoru Shiraishi playing... Minoru Shiraishi.
WAWAWA忘れ物～
