Geass 20: “Please love me!!”

Code Geass

Oh god the cheese… >.>…

Oh wow this episode probably made me lose a significant amount of brain cells due to the sheer cheese.

First, Lancelot gets upgraded to Alie Lancelot, fine. Then there was that “WTF” scene of Nina “Table-humper” Einstein (wow that so soils the name) finally meeting Euphie, her.. “goddess”. I’m surprised there was no surprise yuri sex.

Inspired by Nina, Euphie then goes to confess her love to Suzaku… when he’s in the middle of a fucking battle…

“Suzaku-kun..”
“Yes, Your Highness?”
“PLEASE LOVE ME!!”
“Er.. yeah… BTW if you haven’t noticed I’m ALONE in the middle of the fucking enemy base with almost NO energy left.”
“Yeah I know.”
“Don’t cry for me, kay.”
“NOOO!! SUZAAAAAAAKKUUUU-KUNNNNNNNN!!!”

… now that’s what I call “strategic timing”. Sunrise staff really need to listen to School Rumble’s “Onna no Ko♥Otoko no Ko”.

Thankfully, Suzaku gets his butt bailed out by Zero and C.C (oo she can pilot!!) in Gawain. BTW, if those energy packs are so small, why can’t they just bring more extras? Damn noob. Probably want to upgrade Lancelot and Gawain to nuke engines later. And so, my prediction comes true as Justice and Freedom Gawain and Lancelot pwn the ass off the enemy and medetashi, medetashi.

Sigh… so cheesy. Next episode will finally have more of Amnesia-ko and C.C. too. Oh god I can’t wait for it.

Off for GACC.

I’ll be going off for 3 days to cover GACC. Sadly, SS-Eclipse didn’t break subbing speed records, so I won’t be able to watch Kanon 24 any time soon (sigh… _|-|0””’) . Hopefully I’ll be able to get access to the Internet somehow. Wish me luck!

KyoAni CLANNAD Possibility

Thanks to tips from an IRC channel I frequent, attention has been brought to me on a page on the bs-i TV website, which points to the possibility of a CLANNAD anime produced by none other than Kyoto Animation. The page itself is here.

CLANNAD

Now excuse me while I go fanboy. More details will be available on the 20th of March, according to the page.

P.S. OK! OK! It’s not a possibility! KyoAni CLANNAD anime will be happening. Sorry for covering my bases.

P.P.S. Ripped the CLANNAD movie trailer. It feels weird to hear Mai Nakahara sound so sad…

P.P.P.S For a trailer of the CLANNAD TV series, it’s after the jump.

Koi Kaze

Koi Kaze

Sinfully cute.

… is not bad at all. Thanks to a certain individual (Blame Mike!~~ Blame Mike!~~ *to the tune of “Blame Canada*), I found myself interested in it. In fact it was particularly engaging, even though 95% of the time I was going “OH SHIT! OH SHIT! OH SHIT!”. But don’t worry, I haven’t developed siscon thanks to the Westermarck effect. Besides, Nanoka is too cute to be found in real life. But I can understand… I can understand, if one were to be put in to the same situation as Koshiro was.

Particularly, why I like Koi Kaze is probably how well fleshed out the characters are, especially Koshiro, who bears the brunt of the mental torture of having fallen in love with his own sister. His anguish and reaction to having such forbidden feelings are well brought out. Nanoka, meanwhile, is probably the too-perfect younger sister, being that cute is a sin! Really! Her seiyuu does a very fine job on her… very fine job. Thankfully I’m not Stripey, but Koi Kaze does make imouto-con… well.. likable? Thankfully 99% of the time, imouto-san is non-blood related.

Koi Kaze also has some really amazing side characters, notably Chidori-san. I can easily imagine her as a yakuza/biker gang leader and she really does have the looks and charisma perfectly. But she does have a really caring side to her too and I feel kinda sad for her towards the ending episodes. Koshiro and Nanoka’s mom is also really an awesome mom, I’ll say, but I wonder why she divorced from their father…. perhaps she couldn’t stand his crybaby-ness? :P

Koi Kaze is definitely not for everyone, especially when it deals with such taboo topics like this, but in it’s core, it’s still a very well done series, tackling seriously on its subject matter and theme, which I really admire. The realistic characters also help make it a really good show, but it’s best to be forewarned before watching this series to make sure you don’t have any long separated or missing relatives XD.

The start of an empire?

3-14-07 (8:33PM EDT)—- Haruhi Suzumiya Game To Be First Fruit Of New Kadokawa Company
Kadokawa Group Holdings plans to establish a new company who’s primary focus will be managing contents copyrights. The group’s companies have in the past had success in publishing animation and novels and the new spinoff will expound on this by tying those efforts into licensing, commercialization and media adaptation etc.. Kadokawa also plans to launch a new operation which will develop characters and handle creator management. The new company will handle the copyright of about 500 titles including Tokikake to start off with. A game unit spinoff will produce the first ever Haruhi Suzumiya video game adaptation as its initial project. The news comes in the wake of a major cross investment move on the part of Namco Bandai Holdings, Kadokawa and Toei.

Yeah, anime, serious business.

Also, Haruhi video game LOL. I wonder what would the game be about? Be Itsuki and exterminate Shinjins with sideplot of seducing Kyon?

Geass 19: The cheese starts here

Code Geass

Can you feel the cheese?!

Yes! I can feel it! The proverbial train is starting to speed up! Yeah Sunrise, I can already feel the impending train wreck. So predictable, really so predictable. First floating battleships, now flying Knightmares. Next what? Suzaku and Lulu team up or something?

Sigh, I guess the problem would be that they seem to have lost track of the various plot threads that are making up Geass and continuously introducing new threads rather than resolving the current ones.

That aside, it’s still funny to see Lulu *trying* to act manly when he plainly fails at it, and I must not be the only one going “OMG INCEST” when Euphie strips. Kallen trying to kill Suzaku while still naked is kinda hawt, but sadly she’s become Zero Fangirl #1, which makes her boring.

Overworked lolis are dangerous lolis

Manabi Straight

Manabi breaks down.

Never go near them when you know they’ve been up for the past 48 hours. Without coffee. With a deadline approaching.

That aside, what the hell was with the scene with Manabi and Taka-san? I saw no point in it. At all. I was half-expecting a flying squid to appear.

Also, Momo-chan is awesome. Not only did she worm her way out of doing any real work by going to Hawaii, she had the best line of the episode too (”Mei-tan, you’re such a tsundere.”) and her tan is hawt.

Negima Drama Followup

3-14-07 (1:40AM EDT)—- Negima Drama In Doubt?
Yesterday’s blog entry over at actress Ai Tanimoto’s journal that mentions Negima will become a live action TV drama at some point in the future has been deleted. With the only source for the news now having fallen by the wayside, where does the idea of such a project currently stand? One opinion is that the news has to be genuine because according to Tanimoto’s comments she had a confirmed role in the series, passing some audition screening stage. The thinking being that no professional thesbian worth his or her salt would be caught dead prattling about online about getting a role that didn’t exist. On the one hand we have the record low TV ratings that have plagued the 2nd season of the anime in Japan. Can further renditions and extrapolations of the story endure economic viability? On the other we have series creator Ken Akamatsu who made a web journal entry back on February 27th indicating “There is an announcement that will become a big surprise when April comes. It is a project that has not been done before.” Meanwhile, an entry by the President of Negima rights manager Marvelous Entertainment over at their site mentions “The next term will also involve enriching the lineup of cost conscious live action dramas.” Still other uncofirmed fan rumors state the drama will happen in 2008 and to look in a future issue of Weekly Shonen Magazine (where the manga serializes) for the official announcement.

Still not very good news. The anime industry is a very dangerous place to get too famous.

oh god MILFate is hot (II)

StrikerS

A day at the beach with MILFate

Let’s just say this image is anemia-inducing. Very. While many are still in the Feito-chan(小) camp, I find myself very much in the MILFate camp. I mean, who can resist that dynamite body? I guess this proves I’m not a lolicon at all.

Also, does anyone know the source of that pic? I need to secure a hard copy of it.

3-12-07 (8:26PM EDT)—- Negima To Be Dramatized
Ken Akamatsu has mentioned his Negima manga will be adapted to live action drama at some point in the near future in a blog entry made on March 13th.

I’ll just say one thing….
