Oh come on, he was (a kid) in the middle of the forest. If he can't spare a minute to be with her after the fall, leaving her by herself while he runs off isn't going to do much good.

Makoto appearing as the personification of a miracle is fine with me, if that's what she is. With that time paradox flashback of Yuuichi somehow managing to give Ayu that hairband...

As I read <a href="http://www.moemoerabu.net/2007/03/04/kanon-22-with-three-books-this-time/" rel="nofollow">somewhere</a> there's a possibility that Ayu broke her neck at the fall. If that's the case she would have actually died immediately if Yuuichi tried to move her - not that he would have indeed thought of it at the time though.

Hm I wtfed at the Makoto part too but I didn't think it was out of place once I thought about it heh. Well I agree suicideing in the mountains was a bad idea but overall it was a good ep -_-; we all have our own opinoins I guess. But if Kanon was only 13 eps we'd end up with another Toei so 23 eps ftw I thouse it was 26 eps so mehhh I really wanted more Kanon oh well

Emo Nayuki is another one of her moe modes. And a good one, at that.
God, I so hoped she would go Kaede on Yuuichi and knife him, what a jerk.

And, while the Ayu flashback did put a tear to my eye (yet again), Yuuichi's running to the mountain to freeze himself to death was just stupid. He's like "<em>God, I have been such a shitjerk to Nayuki, I think I have to stay with her and help her through thi-OH SHI AYU IS DEAD GOTTA GO FREEZE MYSELF TO DEATH SO LONG NAYUKI AND THANKS FOR ALL THE JAM"</em>. That was so stupid.

He should have gone to inquire about Tsukimiya Ayu's whereabouts on the police or something... why didn't he thought of that in the first place? It would have saved him a lot of hassle (I'm pretty sure they would have found her whereabouts if they tried). BTW... there is nothing worse to me than watch an ultimate pimp such as Yuuichi go emo over losing his harem... can't he just move to another town and make a new one?

Also, what the hell was that with Makoto at the end? I mean, I'm a Makoto fan above all things, and even I went WTF on that scene. It seemed so out of place (I did "kita!"-ed anyways ^^).

Maybe KyoAni is already getting old. Maybe they should only stick to 13-episode series?

Well I don't think Yuuichi's a jerk really, theres not much he can do for his cusion. Scine he blew her off like that Nayuki probley doesn't want his comfor because it wouldn't be "real" or something like that. Still I like Makoto's spirit's cameo heh but emo Nayuki was really sad. I think they did a pretty good job with this ep, better then toei

Nayuki's and Yuuichi's conversation was interesting. You can really interpret what Yuuichi is feeling (he feel's guilty and perhaps ashamed).

Makoto's camo! I bet you're all happy Makoto fans.
It was nice to see Makoto it was really unexpected.

Next episode: we only see Ayu's narration in the monologue....I don't know what to expect.....
WE ONLY HAVE 2 EPISODES LEFT.

@ Kurogane:

I agree that the Nayuki half was better than the Ayu half this time 'round....but stil....the accident at the tree was still gut-wrenching :(

The one thing that bugged me the most was the close-up shot of Yuiichi running in the blizzard....it was like 5 secs. too long......

It probably wouldn't seem that bad if they had given Yuiichi some internal dialouge

(like when he is running back to the school after he realizes Sayuri has gone to the school to find Mai way back in ep. 14, or realizes Mai sent him away to fight the demon in ep. 15)

Emo Nayuki= super sad! :(......She better get some closure, or I might have to cry over this anime lol :P

Ahh that is indeed a common reaction upon this episode. Very understandable.
A problem with KA works is that they sometimes symbolize the meaning of their plot so much that most audience find it hard to digest. AIR and Haruhi are quite good examples: many ppl didn't understand nor like it the first round.
I got confused big time as well the first round i watched this episode. But after a few rewatch + thinking as well as collecting different impressions and views from forumers and bloggers, I guess the plot went through my head pretty smoothly by now.
