I don’t get it. Do the people who make those things do it for kicks, or are they really anti-p2p fanatics, or are they officials who write those viruses to “punish” p2p users?

It works quite well for me, since the first day I installed it, no need for VPN software or doing tech-y stuff. Without Share, I couldn’t have gotten all the obscure Higurashi stuff I now own.

Why would you use a JAPANESE sharing program to look for JAPANESE stuff if you don’t know at least a little bit of the language?

You can get translated files for Share…

I used to use Winny, but I kept getting phony files (especially when downloading Kanon. I either got porn or episodes of Naruto instead.) Share does have some phonies, but it’s mostly clean, and virus free (as far as I know.)

I never had any problems with Share so far. *knocks on wood* No viruses, no restrictions because of my foreign IP, etc. Of course you have to know moonspeak to use it, but that’s pretty much a given… (And I don’t know why casual users are a problem. At least they won’t hack the program to make it trade-only and stuff, like others did with winmx.)

The thing about Winny is that, it’s more crippled than its successor (was it Share?), but that’s my opinion, so I digress.

To add one more point, to those wishing to get Share, I say, good luck. Most of the searches I found are in moonspeak, some of the download sites made use of IP tracking to restrict foreigners, and some require you to download a certain “private network” software, and seeing the number of “casual” users outnumber the “technically adept” (read: geek) users, I’d say, forget Share. Stick to whatever P2P software you are using right now.

…Unless, of course, you want the virus.
