The original Nanoha

Wow, I found a Youtube vid of the original Nanoha concept…

For starters, Yuuno was supposed to morph in to a miko-ish cute girl..OH SHIT IT’S FATE, Lindy is the fairy and Chrono was the bad guy.

I must thank god to whoever who changed all those to the current Nanoha we all know, love, worship and make parody comics of.

It does seem that the original concept was a lot closer to the original backstory behind Triangle Hearts, or at least as Wikipedia describes the Lyrical Toy Box version. Right down to fairy-Lindy and evil-Chrono, even.

This video is actually a promo for the Nanoha game that was a Triangle Hearts 3 spinoff, and was included on the Triangle Hearts ~Sweet Songs Forever~ Soundstage VA DVD (KIBA-817 for those interested), which was in turn a promo for that OVA series back in 2002.

The Nanoha series we all adore is a spinoff of that game (which is included on the DVD edition of the Triangle Hearts games). So that makes StrikerS… a sequel to a sequel to a spinoff of a spinoff of a sequel to a sequel to a game (going all the way back to TH1). Such a fine pedigree for such a fine series!

You know, when I first heard the title, “Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha,” I imagined something similar to what was shown in that video…

Well, I DID think that Yuuno was a boyish girl when I first saw him. I’m just glad they changed the design for Raging Heart.

The opening with yuuno running with nanoha reminds me of ash and pikachu running. I shuddered.

Gave up watching half way, I can’t stomach it. Thank god they crapped that.

the staff looks like a CCS staff. and now I know where the “heart” part of Raging Heart comes from.

    I like the Yuuno-fox tho. xD it’s cute. =P

It’s been a long time since I saw this video; ^^; but yes, as have been mentioned above, this was not conceived to be the MSLN-series. MSLN was a spinoff of this spinoff game. This video is really for an actual game, not for MSLN.

    Cheers.

I do hate to see Chrono as the main foe in the first season. Grad they did not follow this story, and thus removing Fate. Still i wonder of we get the sword fight scences if we followed this route…

But it does mean that he’ll play a more important role =), wonder how that would turn out… But that ‘version’ looks very… tame. =P

Wonder what gave them the idea for Fate, she seems to be the reason to turn this story around just to fit her in…

This does help explain Lindy’s need to have swet coffee. But overall WOW, what is up with the hat?
Yes, I’m Very happy that we got the nonoha that we did.

ULTIMATE DO NOT WANT. Where’s my delicious Fate-chan? And my fuckwin OP music?
I whole heartedly second the praise for whoever looked at this and said “Hey guys, why make a crummy exact CCS ripoff when instead we could make awesome instead?” Here’s hoping StrikerS kicks ass as well.

    My God… Jesus…
No~~ Fate a Fox?? My favorite Lindsey a Fairy? And Nanoha staff is the same crap Sakura from CCS held? Is the end of the world… thank god they decided to trash it before they trash themselves out…

well, well, Kuon the foxgirl is being switched to Yuuno the ferret-boy…haha

Ah well, too much mahou-shoujo can ruin the genre. So they decided to add some mecha flavor and deep storyline.

Let’s thank the Lord. OMG WTF?!!! If they actually made the Nanoha series like that it would’ve been the most crappy series since…….. wait, I don’t think there’s something that could’ve been crappier! Thank God for the present Nanoha and BANZAI to StrikerS =D

    That’s not Yuuno, it’s a kitsune-girl named Kuon. Someone hasn’t played Toraha 3.

i have no problem with her hat or weird story setting
where Nanoha fight with Chrono or her father is dead

it’s the raging heart that bother me the most…
    WTF with the heart-shaped design???
that looked like a friggin typical mahou shoujo staff…
