From Anime News Service:

1-22-07 (12:15PM EST)—- Byousoku 5 Centimeter Production Finished
Production wrapped on Monday, January 22nd for Director Makoto Shinkai’s Byousoku 5 Centimeter – a chain of short stories about their distance. The animated shorts compilation is the latest effort from the independent director responsible for Hoshi No Koe (Voices Of A Distant Star) and The Place Promised in Our Early Days. You can view the trailer here. According to an official film blog entry dated 10:59: “I’m sorry to have kept you waiting ..everybody… The last editing work ended a minute ago.” A photograph of the production team helped to capture the “moment”. The blog goes on to say that although initial production is complete, there is still alot of work yet to be done on packaging the contents for the eventual public delivery and distribution. A spring premiere is expected to occur in Shibuya.

Can’t wait for spring ^_^! Makoto Shinkai <3.

Yessss! Yet another reason why winter must end, the other two being snow and one of the worst anime seasons thus far.

B-b-but it’s the season of loliyuri! Can’t loliyuri and PURE WIN coexist peacefully?!

I can see yuri and purewin living in harmony, but I have yet to see a decent loli show as of yet D=

    Counterargument, go!

I so want to see that movie! I agree with Shirukii about this seasoning needing to end…. if anything, it means more Fate/Hayate/Nanoha action!!!!!!! :)

Oh c’mon, this season DOES NOT SUCK. Yes, there is an overwhelming amount of loli/yuri shows this season, but so far, most have been good.

Besides, there’s gems like Nodame Cantabile this season, which is already pure win for Seki Tomokazu and Ayako Kawasumi pairing up, not to mention the good plot as well, after reading the first four volumes of the manga so far.

Anyways, my main hope is that Byousoku 5cm’s release schedule remains on track… followers of Makoto will know the reason why…:)

I’m not a big follower of his (despite watching all of his films to date, 2 years apart). What is the reason.

I’m also looking forward to Hayate no Gotoku. But what Fate are you reffering to?

This winter season is…….mediocre at best, Manabi Straight! s only begginging and …can’t say it looks incredibly interesting. Kyoshirou has it’s comedic moments (as the blog has said) but has really annoying narration. And Shuffle! memories…………………….I’ll stick around for the character openings for now.
