Hayate is NOT manly - he TRIES to be manly... but is only really manly in Nagi's eyes. Otherwise, he's pretty standard loser harem, with a hint of Gundam (the mecha, not the pilots) in him. He's shy, self-effacing, extremely devoted to keeping his job (and later on, keeping Nagi happy)... and somehow draws female attention. That, and his relatively indestructible nature, are about his only good points.

In other words, he's a lot like Shiratori from Mahoraba... which fits this manga just fine. :D Besides, he's only really a trap when it comes to one character; the rest just feel he's horrifically cute dressed as a girl, as (again) Shiratori from Mahoraba was... with similar results (only one guy was really interested in Shiratori-trap).

I would think of Hayate more along the lines of 'fun' or 'silly' rather than manly (yes I will agree that he has his manly points) which is almost the same as his last 2 previous characters...

But then neither he or Tomokazu Seki (this guy is the definely can do 'manly') are trap material... But the trap stuffs really only comes out once in awhile...

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Tomokazu Seki has plenty of GAR for Hayate, but he is not trap material. And as Horie Yui has shown us, traps go with female voices (and as zaeris wisely pointed out, PriPri is a clear-as-water example of why this should be kept that way).

Hino Satoshi cannot do manly. Hayate is manly. In fact, he's GAR and Seki Toshihiko has the perfect voice, but well, we need to give opportunities to the newcomers, right?

Also, Eleutheria... she wore WHAT?! And did WHAT?!!

It's times like this I hate how I can't read Japanese to save my life.

@Eleutheria
She wore WHAT?! And did WHAT?! Okay, I so need to get my hands on that...

Am I the only one who was hoping that Hayate would get voiced by Hino Satoshi once they found out that Nagi would be voiced by Rie? =)

I'm happy with most of this cast but Hayate's voice still bugs me. At least I got what i wanted with Nagi.

Hmm if they are using the Lacus head accessory it makes me wonder if this is going to me a 26 ep series, maybe with the animation of Hina's birthday arc. Which is a good thing other then the fact the ending arc will like shana. meh all in all i'm looking forward to it.

Well... surprising to say the least. Of course it's not the Dream Team we thought of (but at least I take credit on nailing Nagi's :P), but the cast is quite good. There is no way I can complain about maid Tanaka Rie :)

Also, Tama-nee ftw.
