Oh Mai gawd…

Kanon

:0~~!

Mai is moe. Mai is moe desu~~..! Polygamy is allowed in moe, right? Right!?

That was one awesome waltz. One bloody awesome waltz. Has there been any other better animated dances in anime in recent times? First, GOD KNOWS, now, Mai’s waltz. KyoAni is legendary.

Kanon

More Mai goodness for safe measure

Didja catch how Mai’s choker mysteriously disappeared in one scene? Big closeup on her head, and it was just completely gone. :-p

    Sugoi! Sugoi! Sugoi!

KyoAni sure knows its business very well. As Kurogane-sensei pointed out, KyoAni did a great job with the dance and then with the fight. C’mon, is obvious now that Mai isn’t 100 % responsible for what happens around school, that’s clear now. Damn you Kuze.

Somebody please, get my a tissue, I need to wipe my tears.

Nice thing about the waltz, too, is that it’s relatively believable. Yuuichi doesn’t so much waltz as rythmically walk alongside Mai, and she (natural athlete/warrior as she is) improvises outwards – okay, it’s a bit of a reach, like Haruhi’s singing on God Knows, but it doesn’t stretch belief to the breaking point.

Beautiful, beautiful – but I would’ve liked to see them do the Monkey too. Mai seemed really interested in the Monkey.

Anyone want to do the Monkey with Mai?

    Didn’t catch it myself.

4th time on the waltz routine already.

Yeah, it’s not like he suddenly does a tango after saying that he can dance. You can obviously feel that he’s winging it as he goes.

I am secretly hoping that we’ll see Mai doing that. I think I have an inkling of what it the monkey dance, go watch back episode 11, at the part where Ayu just comes over and they have dinner together.

Fantabulous job of making Kuze even more unlikeable than in 2002 Kanon.
