Their GARness is legendary. @AC: Yeah... god damn adorable... @Kinny Riddle: Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to play the game, since my reading comprehension of moonspeak is limited to about 13-15 hiragana, 5-6 katakana and about 20+ kanji(thanks to my Chinese heritage), so my first exposure of Kanon was the abysmal 2002 version, which I am pretty sure that Yuiichi was never this awesome or GAR in it. Still, I'm calling him Kyon'ichi just for fun's sake and a sign of my endearment to his awesomeness. Kyon and Yuiichi will definitely be the high points of Sugita Tomokazu's career for some time to come. It's too bad though that "Lucky Star" has no male characters, if not.... oh wow... @sagematt: LOL. Their GARness is legendary.

@Kinny Riddle: Unfortunately, I did not have the chance to play the game, since my reading comprehension of moonspeak is limited to about 13-15 hiragana, 5-6 katakana and about 20+ kanji(thanks to my Chinese heritage), so my first exposure of Kanon was the abysmal 2002 version, which I am pretty sure that Yuiichi was never this awesome or GAR in it.

Yuuichi doesn't need to be Kyon, he was being himself all along. In a way, one could say Yuuichi is the Kyon prototype and that Kyon's personality is more or less based on Yuuichi, since Kanon predates Suzumiya Haruhi after all. That said, I'm still amazed at how similar Yuuichi and Kyon are, it's like both roles were designed specifically for Sugita Tomokazu. Kyo-Ani was probably so impressed by Sugita doing Kyon that they commissioned him to do Yuuichi. The match was perfect. Simply impressive how the writers moved the story from Makoto to Mai seamlessly, while still managing to develop Nayuki, Ayu and Shiori's storyline. I melted when I saw Shiori munching on her ice cream. More Mai can't be a bad thing though, so I'm not in a hurry to see the other three girl's storylines.
