well I have to agree with a lot of the reasons I’m pro-Zegapain. Kaminagi is soo sooo cute, and half of it is her voice … “Kyo-chan” *dies*

kurogane: the show missed the spotlight just cos the mechas were really unappealing. add to it that most ppl usually decides if the anime is worth of watching just watching the first episode.

maybe if studio bones touched the mechas, the show would look a lot better heh. (ok, i’m just really needing another show like eureka7)

too bad it wasnt a misaki ending T__T

btw: a nice show not really blogged around is black blood brothers
(although it isnt as good as zegapain its a nice show ^^)

Let’s just say Zegapain restored my faith in Sunrise: they can make a decent show with a good ending when they aren’t too busy bending over backwards pleasing the fans.

For me this series had its faults: not too exciting mecha battles ever so often, WTF plot developments toward the end (Shima became the resident magician who just kind of solved any problem they might have had) and some undeveloped interesting characters (I personally wanted them to do more with the school friends). But overall it was an enjoyable ride. I also have to say that I really like the way they ended it. It was just perfect: good ending, but not too unnaturally happy.

It’s too bad Zegapain had some spots of terrible animation here and there, and the 3D work wasn’t that appealing…

I need to watch it again though without such long breaks between episodes. That will probably help me to enjoy it more. I did like it, though.

@Tess: I would not say that Zegapain is on the same level as Simoun, but it’s close.

However, Zegapain and Simoun just both share the same situation as being amazingly good shows that unfortunately have missed the spotlight and are labelled as “fluff”. I just can’t stand that happening really.

This season initially started with quite a lot of promise, but it seems mid-season slack has set in, and I can’t say I’m not afflicted with it. Out of the 10-15 shows that I initially followed as raw, I’m now only watching Kanon, Otoboku and Mamoru-kun faithfully. The rest have either screwed up(Yoakena) or watching as subs(Asatte no Houkou and Sumomomomomo).

Currently now rewatching Azumanga Daioh, XD.

Would you say it’s on the same level of Simoun? Because to me Simoun has become one of my favorite series ever, and it’s under rated… I’d like to know if Zegapain is something I could watch while waiting for other shows to come out.
I’ve dropped so many shows from this season so now I have very few things I really watch with interest(Kanon, Asatte, Otoboku, Sumomo, etc). I’ve been watching older completed series (FMP! and SR, finally…) to pass the time, but now I don’t have anything interesting…

i was only disappointed that the faces seemed to have loss quality at the end of the episode, espcially shizuno at the school
