I picked this up as a random holiday read i'm instantly sold out, Even through the setting is a little like He's my master (reversed) but i found it a extremly good read. Its very fun to pick out all the parodies from animes all over the place, just looking a vol 10 i found bout 5-6 on Gundam, Zero, Conan.

But i found Hayate is a bit over powered even at the start of the manga with the Gundam powered strength and unkillable body that rivals Urashima Keitaro. and also as the story progresses minor chars like tama-chan gets less and less srceen time.

i'm looking forward to the anime and hope its going to be a 26 ep series. since 13 ep cant really cover much in series time at all.... and lol i kust realised the "Shiku Shiku Shiku" line is from CCS

>>Wow, you are quite new into this then. I have been watching this since the early nineties or so.

Yeah, I'm quite new at this. I first started watching back in 2000. I still remember my first anime was You're Under Arrest and the Ah! My Goddess OVA's.

>>I would get the manga, since most of the time manga >>>> anime. Should I?

Yeah, the manga is awesome. The anime is a direct conversion of the manga too, for your note.

@sagematt:

Go and watch the real Japanese version as soon as possible. RAVE was one of the reasons I fell in love with anime and was one of the earliest animes I watched. I'm still waiting for them to animate the ending half of the story, since the anime only covered the events of the first 11 volumes.

For some reason, Hayate really really reminds me of Haru, perhaps it's their character design and the general awesomeness of them both..

@Kuro: Wow, THE Seki and Kawasumi Ayako in stellar roles? Sweet, I didn't notice that before. Too bad I watched CN's dub... I almost puked.

Maybe I'll watch it someday, but not right now. I'm not in the mood for +26 episode series at the moment.

(Still, trap Seki is still my main reason why I'm not choosing him...)

@sagematt

I haven't read up Hayate in a while, so I kinda forgot about the characters appearing later. At the time of writing, I was at vol.1 desu~~... cut me some slack, ok ;).

Hinagiku would be awesome with Aya Hirano playing her, period, now that I've read up to vol.4 and v05c01. And as for why I thought of Seki as Hayate... go watch RAVE, which i still think as one of the best anime that no one has heard before.

@Kuro:
And I was expecting you to comment about Hirano Aya as Hinagiku :S
I guess you are not too fond of the character, then (because I am).

Anyways, who knows, looking back at what Haruhi and Lucky Star were, Hayate is the kind of series KyoAni WOULD do... *crosses fingers*

ps. I'd place Seki as that other boy who is in love with Nagi. Gar and male tsundere are the two arquetypes that go with Seki (IMO), so I can't really place him as Hayate (even if he is quite gar himself, but trap Seki = t3h no!).

>>Btw, how is the VIZ incarnation of Read or Dream? I probably going to pick it on on my way to the city tomorrow.

Just finished it. It's quite good. Worth a buy.
