Balalaika's dispatch of Hansel (Gretel?) was quite possibly the coldest and harshest thing I've ever seen in anime. What an unhappy set of episodes those were. Great, to be sure, but still very unhappy.

It's a rather good ep - this whole arc was strong, and it ended properly - everyone was less than happy with the whole mess, and it went out in about as clean a way as possible, especially given that Elroy had motives beyond 'I got money', which combined with his being tired of living such an existence, gave it a 'real' sort of grittiness that made the ending that much better - although I'm surprised how hardened Rock has gotten to this sort of thing.

You'd have thought he'd have gotten used to that sort of 'surprise' in Roanapur. ;)

Amen.

Is awesome how they can remind us that there is a cruel word outside us and not every human being has the same rights and joys.

Just like “Knocking to the Heaves Door” remind us…

ARE YOU LIVING IN THE REAL WORLD?

Sometimes I get fed up with Black Lagoon and think it's just trying too hard to be bad and gritty, and then they make episodes like this to prove me wrong.
