A prequel and the characters where that young in the beginning. It would be interesting to see who was Rei’s original guardian and why she decided to live on her own. Kauru’s story could be nice to I gues we will see

im realy excited about these new Eva movies, eva in general has rocked my world, especialy EoE. Hell I can write a thesis on Evangelion in general. but if theres anything I want in eva other than the characters to have a content existance with each other would be……

and a comeback of Unit-3 AND Unit-4, yeah thats right unit 4!!!!!!!(the silver one) lol
anyways there could be so many things that would make this the greatest thing ever.

As long as I get to see Rei naked, I’m happy!!

I’m also hoping for longer Eva v. Angel battles, the ones in the series were too short. I’d like a nice 10 minute epic battle in one of these movies!

I also hope in this new version that shinji doesn’t jerk off to a comatose Asuka.

…wouldn’t mind if Rei did it tho..

I’m so damn psyched for these movies. Eva was a 1996 anime, so I gave up hope on anything new (besides the god-awful Girlfriend of Steel stuff) and figured it was long dead. The movie End of Evangelion was the best thing I’ve ever seen, nothing has topped it. Evangelion being my favorite anime, I squealed like a squirrel over hearing news of this rebuild project. These movies will rock so hard, and I’ll be anxiously awaiting their releases.

And as for the one that’s gonna be a prequel to the series, I’d like to see how that turns out.

All I can picture is a classrom full of minor characters doing nothing of interest for like an hour and a half, and half-way through Rei quietly exclaims, “My god, this is boring.”

Wait… if the first movie takes place before the coming of the angels, that means it’ll be a prequel to the TV series. Neither Shinji nor Asuka will have transferred in yet, so we’re left with Rei, Kensuke, Touji, and Hikari; but how does that fit with Kaworu being a principal character? Hell, he doesn’t show up until Episode 24 of the anime.

What would Eva with no angels and no Shinji or Asuka be like anyway?

Kensuke: Wow! That [tank/jet/battleship] is so cool!

Touji: You’re such a nerd, Kensuke.

Hikari: I’ve got a crush on Touji, but I don’t know how to tell him…

…no, if this is accurate, they’ll be making major changes to the original continuity. This is sounding a lot like the Episode 26/Girlfriend of Steel alternate universe, where all the kids are classmates and Misato is the teacher. I hated that manga for its horrible art and general shoujo-ness, but since Fumino Hayashi doesn’t seem to be involved with Rebuild I have high hopes for this. Making Rei and Kaworu the central characters is natural, as they’re the most popular with guys and girls respectively. Hopefully they won’t totally neglect the others; I like Rei, but I also like Asuka and all the other characters (except that bastard Gendou).

Love to campaing for Rei in the saimoe when she qualifies. Need solidify her fanbse before the Anti-Rei/Eva base can get it going.
