It is a battle of wills between Rika and Oishi with Oishi being the one causing the "reset" and Rika trying to get out. The rest of the story is just a side result of their different moves and countermoves. Yes I know that right now you're all thinking WTF but think about it. 1. Rika's comments seem to be directed at Oishi 2. Oishi acts very suspiciously and gives out information that he really shouldn't 3. We have seen he can be cruel and manipulative. 4. Oishi actively tries to sow discord, paranoia, and distrust while Rika says that the very opposite is the KEY TO ENDING THE CYCLE 5. It could've been all faked by them or true, since we don't have any concrete proof yet. We really can't dismiss the theory yet, plus added in with the current time loop angle being introduced, it's kinda hard to tell.
