:DI was so excited to watch the last episode at first, But as I got further in I began crying, at the thought of having to wait for a second season. This series was awesome from the beginning to the end. :( I'm praying to God( Suzumiya Haruhi :P) to see another season soon. I can wait forever, though that's not really healthy. Well as Haesslich said there's still a few novels to cover.

As long as they can follow the novels, they'll probably do okay - the novels do, from what of them I've read, and what I've heard, a pretty good job at carrying the story across. And there's quite a few more novels to cover, so it's not like they're going to lack source material. :D

[...] I have nothing but praise for this series, and I’m very glad that Kurogane also thinks that a second season is highly likely. We’ll see in the coming weeks, but I hope so, I really, really hope so. [...]

It's going to take a while though before another Haruhi anime might be made though. First, there's the KANON remake that's due for release this fall, not to mention the fact that FMP COMO is sure to be next on queue. At the very best, we can expect a sequel by next year. :)

ACro: As much as I'd hate to admit it, yes, this is the last episode of the first season of the show. So far, no news about more Haruhi anime has been made, but expect KyoAni to announce it sometime soon before the legion of otakus burn down their studio.

Meanwhile, check out KyoAni's Kanon remake to see if they made the right choice to make that rather than more episodes of Haruhi.
