Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu 02

Suzumiya Haruhi

Win, I tell you…. pure unadultered win…. that’s what Suzumiya Haruhi is made of…

This is easily one of the best series this season, if they continue on with the same quality this episode if made off.

Anyways, this can be said as the “true” first episode of the series, as we are introduced to the wonder that is Suzumiya Haruhi-sama through the eyes of Kyon, the male lead of the show. Being a *tsunderekko*, she acts initially cold to him… but slowly opens up to the cynical Kyon, who actually inspires her to make a new club, SOS-dan or Sekai wo Ooini moriagerutame no Suzumiya Haruhi no dan, to overload the world with fun, since she finds everything boring. Win, in my opinion, pure win. Where do I sign up, Haruhi-sama?

Other highlights include the way she just grabs poor Mikuru-chan to join the club after noticing that she daydreams daily and also for the fact that she has a moé characteristic to her, being a lolita face with big boobs and all. Haruhi-sama also pointed out the universal law of anime that every interesting story, there’s a loli moé character in it. Oh and did anyone spot the SHUFFLE! cameo?

In short…. Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu is a must watch for this season… screw the shows where dog gods with a perverted master kill vampires who shoot cloth-disintegrating beams and where kisses are required to activate godly flying machines…. Suzumiya Haruhi wins all of them at least 10^n (where n = ∞) times.

Haruhiism for the win!!!

Spring Season First Impressions

Well, I’ve been through quite a number of the new Spring Season shows, and I must say… there’s really quite a number there :P. Some have really made my day, while others had me holding in my disgust. Anyways, it’s been a while since I’ve had such a long post, so continue on to read my views and opinions about the new shows.

I apologise if I seem to be reusing words a lot… this post was about one week in the making. So far I don’t think I’ll be able to blog most of the shows episode by episode (both due to academic and personal reasons), but if I do blog something, it’ll mean that it’s really interesting :).

Fate/Stay Night 14

Archer and Rin

This is as close to man love as I can get….

Damn… Archer was freaking cool this episode. Not only was he the Servant of my most favourite character in Fate/Stay Night, his backstory, if you’ve been spoiled to it, is very, very romantic, in my own personal opinion. The way that they put in the new ED sequence this episode as a somewhat of a commemoration to Archer gets 10/10 in my book to me.

The only thing I find that’s too bad was that he didn’t really get much action in the series. I’m actually hoping for some *deus ex machina* to happen and bring him back :P. ARCHER DESERVES MORE!!!

Let us all join together in tribute to Archer.

“I don’t mind buying time, but it wouldn’t be a problem if I defeated him, would it?”
-Archer-

P.S. : Fanboys will love the next episode. Don’t forget about Archer though.

Sukuran Nigakki

Sukuran

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Yeah, Sukuran Nigakki wins. I was laughing hard, way from the start. It’s glad to see they’ve restored the humour nicely in this episode. The romance tension in the air is still there, but now it’s more humourous rather than being lame as in the later parts of the first season. Tenma is at her usual irritatingly ignorant self here, only this time, less irritating and more funny. Highlights:

- Seeing Yakumo in the kimono(?) in the beginning feudal Japan sequence.
- Harima’s “Don’t worry, I’ll make *imouto-san* happy” line.
- Hanai discovering about Yakumo’s stayover at Harima’s place.
- Harima and Hanai’s double orz in the end.
- The part after the credits with the ero-sommelier.

The only bone I can find to pick with Sukuran Nigakki is the new OP and ED’s. They are really different in feel to the first season’s hyper uplifting Scramble and the brutally honest Onna no Ko Otoko no Ko, but they’re aren’t too bad actually, I’ll just have to take my time to get used to them.
