Shakugan no Shana 24 [END]

Source: Guren

The last episode of the series sees the end of the Ball Masque arc and Shana finally coming into terms with her feelings towards Yuuji.

Admitedly, I have to say that the whole Ball Masque thing was pretty weak in it’s execution and the Ball Masque trio didn’t really exude a feel of being “end bosses”, rather, they were more of a plot device to make Shana realize her true feelings for Yuuji. But then and again, none of the baddies in Shana have really been truly threatening, from a doll freak, the twincest pair and the mad professor. All of them really were a way to make Shana develop her feelings towards Yuuji. This can be good or bad, depending on your point of view, but I’ll say it’s pretty unique in it’s execution.

Anyways, the character development part is where the show really shines, as we see Shana develop her feelings towards Yuuji slowly from their first encounter to the festival arc and now at the end, where she confesses her feelings towards Yuuji and decides to sacrifice herself to use Tenpa Jyosai to save the city. The other characters are also not forgotten, with Yuuji’s classmates being given attention as well. In the end, it was really glad to see everyone being back together happily.

For now, we have a confimed announcement of a Shana movie in the making, which I’m going to gladly anticipate with excitement, and also a whole bunch of novels for me to try reading (anyone has translations?). In all, Shakugan no Shana has been a pretty fun ride to be in. Remember to vote for Shana here as well ;).

saikko dattebayo! that was the best series that i’ve watched in quite a while… I mean look at Kimi Ga Nozumu no Ein (no offense to those who adore it to death-gomen ^^) Shakugan no Shana definitely has no definite end…this is the best end you’re going to get it- the final end is their life story and how they die…they ain’t gonna die XP

Shakugan no Shana has one of the most open ending you can absolutely imagine, IMO. Like, noone died, and the situation didn’t changed at all from the start (Shana living with Sekai Yuji, and enjoying normal human life, etc…) I know they’re making the movie out of this, but I really hope they make 2nd season out of this…. IMO IMO IMO!

Yeah, I hope so. There’s still much of the original material that hasn’t been animated yet, according to what I have heard. So there should be a high chance of a 2nd season, if all goes well and there’s enough response to it.

Hopefully, the movie won’t be a disappointment, though. Based on track record, there have been very few nice movies of this type.

I dunno i’d have to disagree with a bunch of you … I thought the best part of the series was the flashback and I wanted to learn more about the previous “flame haired hunter” or whatever and the whole “last battle” but I thought the anime got pretty retarded afterwards … I would much rather have Shana die … no offense but I mean come on she’s doing something so noble to sacrifice her love and her life because of her duty and in the end it’s like … oh by the way we forgot to tell you … your actually strong enough to summon me! so yeah! good job live a happy life. I find it downright annoying that they focus on having to make the ending be happy for everybody O_o sorry just annoys me

XeLLoS, as have been stated, the original novels of Shana still haven’t been finished yet and are still ongoing. J.C. Staff realises this and put up this ending to not leave out the potential for a second season. They still have to think about their profits, don’t they ;).

Admittedly, looking back, the pacing and the plot shaping of the series definitely was one of its low points, but still, it was good for the character development. Hoepfully, they won’t screw up the movies :P.

yo. i also feel that a 2nd season of shana wld be the best man. everybody agree? aso, the ending was not complete probably, as it did not show the result of yuji-shana relationship.

    lookin forward to movie

I just finished watching the seris this afternoon, I get the feeling that the earlier part of the series had more fluidity with the story progression than the latter half. I understand why they did it open-endedly but I feel that they left the last arc of the story a bit late for the impact to sink.

Anyway, here’s hoping that the film finalises some of things the series didn’t. On a positive note, at least I’ll get to see more Sidonay (cool character) and some nice, high-quality animation (fingers crossed!)

sorry if the translation is wrong or if something is mixed up but usually soundtracks come out for movies and anime’s before they actually are broadcast. But on CD.japan, they have a shakugan soundtrack for the closing sequence (by Aka no Seijaku) of the 2nd season. Now is that the closing for the 2nd half of season one, or is it for a new season (fingers crossed).

Well, As we all know this anime is Quite awesome. And Also how we all know their is a Managa which goes along with this series. WHICH Im gonna have to read. I am die hard when it comes to mangas. Animes just help me visulize things. Anyways. This anime really riped open the story line to MANY possiblities. First… We got the Past Flame of Heaven. (Who oddly looks VERY much like a grown up Shana?) We got the Silver flame, Love storys still undone. The sppoky old man who has a wish which has a plan of his own and we got no idea what plan that is? Bad guys in the end not dying… Its just open to so much possiblities… they can make a pre-series, 2nd season and maybe even stretch it to a 3rd season. All I can say is that if Shana asked Yuji to the festival ahead of time so he could of denied Yoshida. but no… She didn’t look how much pain it caused her. Silly silly girl. (this comment is totaly random and ment to through you all off)
