Don’t wanna sound like like everyone else but addimitedly the series hasn’t risen to the levels of quality of MAI Hime yet. It could turn around in the last few eps. but we’ll have to wait and see. I know what people mean when they say a great deal of nothing happens. Trust me, it’s no .Hack but I do wish they’d get into the meat and potatoes of the situation and get some juicy scenes/events going.

I want to see some lengthy fighting for Christ’s sake!

its sad really, casue after Mai Hime, i was so happy when i heard they were making another related anime, the character development in that was so great and i thought it was quite a waste to just let them die after one season. Otome has so far, while being enjoyable fluff, been the same fluff as all the other anime shows out there. thank goodness for shakugan no shana, nothing super original but a great version of the old classic. “urusai urusai urusai!!!” hehe, just get with him already shana, you know you want to. on a side note, the mai otome manag? frickin hilarious, with the TV show had gone either total comedy like the manga did, or got to the drama at ep 8 like Hime did.

Anyway, yeah, I’m pretty much ready to dump Otome on a whole, or at least give half hearted reviews of the episodes with how this series is shaping up… or down in this case.

I didn’t mean something very interesting happened in 19, it was just less pathetic than the rest so it stood out, IMHO. Taken on its own it was quite bad. But I kind of liked Aswad and the twist that the planet had been riuined by WMDs and I thought Midori and co and Natsuki and gang might, you know, do something in the next episode which of course was not the case.

@Haesslich: Yeah, I forgot about those. But see! Here lies an important proof that Otome’s that horrible enough to make me forget that there *was* some redeeming factors for this episode in the first place.

Honestly speaking, I’d only remembered the Shizuru x Tomoe part only because I was expecting it from the start and also it was done at the end.

Oh….. that stupid technobauble explanation and deus ex mac…. oops, plot device, sorry, set-up episode? Anything else interesting happened in that episode?

Good to see people sharing my sentiments about Mai Otome. It’s such a stupid series that it’s actually kind of fun to watch it, if only to see how much worse it can get. And it does get ever more pathetic (although episode 19 wasn’t too bad, IMO but it was probably the exceptino that confirms the rule)..

You forgot the ‘Mashiro appearing to jump Arika in the Jubal’s stomach’ bit, and ‘Haruka laughing her ass off over Natsuki’s state of deshabille’ bits… but those were one-shots. :D

I’m more interested in the DVD Vol 2 omake, myself…
