Pfft. If that's the case, is Midori supposed to be reminiscent of Char Aznable by the mask she wears? :p

Heh yeah. More or less my thoughts too. Even if a fair bit of the action was brief in the first half of HiME, it was always there lurking in the wings. Finally we're getting another taste of it in Otome. Teenage angst be damned. Things/people blowing up is fun. :-p

Haha, forgot to comment about Nao's little escape today. She was quite funny escaping like that, but she did lose some of my respect for her.

Agree that Nina's robe's kinda plain; given her nature, I'd expect something a little less... feminine. She looks kinda elfish in this one.

"What I didn’t expect was that they made Erstin take both the routes I thought she’d be on to, which is (1) die and (2) betray."

Yeah man, I too expected Erstin to die, but not be the uragirimono!!! After all, if you were to think about it, Erstin does not 'serve' a purpose in the story. Her affection for Nina's obviously misplaced, her skills are obviously not gonna make it to Meister level (maybe not even Pearl) and in the first few episodes we learnt that she joined Galderobe through family sponsorship-not talent scouted or something. Her character's nicely fleshed out to ensure that the heartstrings are pulled in the course of her demise. Her turn as the person receiving the kuro-tegami was just... incredible. I'm so FOR this plot twist!

What we really need right now is for Nao-sama to save the day!

Nice to see I'm not the only one who thought that scene was reminiscent of Nicol's Death Scene back in SEED. :D I mean, all they needed there was the music and we'd have had a SEED-derived scene in OTOME. First the OP, and then this...
