Merry Christmas!!!

Well…. this weekend was kinda hectic. I kinda went “Cuti-cuti Malaysiaaaa~~~”(local tourism catchline :) because I was travelling everyday for the past three days :P. Friday, Melaka-KL = 120km, Saturday, KL-Ipoh = 180km and today, Ipoh-KL = 180km again _|-|0””’….oh and tomorrow, KL-Melaka = 120km’s. Hahaha.

Anyways, thanks to a stroke of luck, I have internet back in my place, so I can access and download :). I see that the “bastard sonofabitch arsehole faggot spammer” has been nicely at work and I’ve cleared some of the spam already, most notably in the shoutbox :P. I’m not going to put in any fixes till later because I’m too lazy to research, heh.

Well, it’s 25th December and I wish all readers of my blog a very Merry Christmas. Normally, I’d put in some nice art but I don’t have my “collection” here, so meh… Anyways, Nanoha A’s 13 later and also GSD Final Plus, if I have the time :).

EDIT: On the other hand…. some people really have no sense of humour :P.

Mai Otome 12

Source: Mai HiME DVD Bonus Specials

Sunrise shows off their excellent storytelling skills with this episode, juggling both humour and plot development equally throughout the episode.

First off, the *omimai* was darn funny, with everyone using each other’s names. Takumi became “Akira”, while poor Akira got forced to become “Takumi”. While the *sanbaka* interchanged each other’s names, with Arika becoming “Mashiro”, Mashiro taking up “Nina” and Nina as “Arika”. Ironically, Mashiro and Takumi DID get to meet each other, but that was expected anyways. Shizuru seemed to had fun exposing Akira though :P.

But in the midst, there was some nice character development, as Mashiro gets to see how the divide between the rich and poor in her country is.She’s ignorant about it first, but now she seems to feel some regret over it, after looking at it firsthand.

While for Takumi, he seems to have inherited Mikoto’s *”ane/ani sagashi”* trait from HiME. It seems that Mai suffered some traumatic experience due to becoming an Otome and is now missing, with Takumi trying to find her.Takumi also has matured from his HiME days, with his questioning about the Otome’s roles to Natsuki and his realization of the suffering of people. He would make a fine king someday :).

Next episode, Akane seems to be the focus and it doesn’t seem like something good is going to happen to her. Is the (Joke) Mai Otome Wishlist Wish No.2 really coming true?!! Hopefully not, a certain someone wouldn’t like it ^_-.

Oh, and *chibikko* Mai and Natsuki are to die for :)

Christmas Break

Well, since it’s Christmas, I’m going back home to celebrate it (well, actually to get my mom to do the laundry ^_^).

Unfortunately, since a little accident happened at home, I won’t have internet access over the weekend, therefore I can’t catch Nanoha A’s 13 :(. I’ll be blogging it up first thing on Tuesday, or Monday, if I can hack it :).

On another note, some bastard sonofabitch arsehole faggot spammer has been targeting my blog, especially on the comments and tagboard. So far WordPress has been deflecting all the spam comments quite admirably, but I wonder would it last over the weekend, before I find a better way to can it. More to my concern is the Tagboard, which is almost defenseless to it :(. The only anti-spam way I could find is the CAPTCHA add-in, but I personally hate those, so I’lll try to find another way. Meanwhile, if you do see spam in the tagboard, just ignore it. I appreciate any suggestions on how to anti-spam my Tagboard :).

SHUFFLE! 23

Well, as promised, Ama-san’s secret is out and Asa is revealed to be having magical powers. Asa’s physical fragility is attributed to the fact that she has magical powers but her body is human, therefore her body is unable to withstand the power in her. The only way to cure it is to use up the magic, but Asa stubbornly refuses to use any magic, even with Rin begging her to do it.

I just feel that Asa is acting quite stupidly by not using her magic. It’s not as if people are forcing her to use her powers to destroy or anything, she could just easily use it to help people or other random “good” uses, like maybe making a field of flowers bloom or something stereotypical. Her stubborness is really annoying to watch :(.

Once again, I have to give my respects towards Rin for being such a great guy. His concern is frankly genuine and he is seriously worried about Asa-sempai. According to the game story, he does quite a selfless act to force Asa to use her magic and I wonder if they’ll repeat this in the show. There seems to be some hints considering he has a boxcutter with him ^_^.

On other notes, the production quality of this episode was quite high and there was even some deformed Asa to look at. Ama-san’s past sequence was quite short though, kinda disappointed really, I wanted to see more :P. Well, next week is the ending of Shuffle, just right before the new year there’s no Shuffle! next week, it’s going to air on the 5th so I really hope that they can end this show nicely.

Anime Theme Song 2005 2nd Half Ranking.

Found this site off MAB’s Shoutbox, Unofficial Anime Theme Song 2005 2nd Half Ranking.

10. Ichigo COMPLETE by Chiba Saeko & Orikasa Fumiko & Kawasumi Ayako & Mamiko Noto from Ichigo Mashimaro – 50 votes

Basically a much more fan-oriented result for 2005 rather than the Oricon chart ranking released earlier. I can’t say much about the first half of 2005 since I was offline that time, but IMHO, I still think that the anime themes of 2nd half of 2005 are the best of the year.

I have just about all the top ten songs in my playlist on Winamp now :) with the sole exception of Kamichu’s ICE CANDY, since I haven’t watched it yet.Other interesting entries are ARIA’s UNDINE at No.12 with 41 votes, YOU from Shuffle at No.15 with 37 votes, Jigoku Shoujo’s OP(Sakasama no Chou) & ED(Karinui) occupy No.16 and 17 respectively.

Well, not many suprises there on the ranking list with most of the fan favourites on top. I wish to see some KOTOKO or more I’ve Sound work soon though for anime themes ^_-.

The love square of Shana-Yuuji-Kazumi-Ike is on the forefront of this episode… but the enemy attacks and Shana gets into a dai-pincchi.

Bleach 62

More of Aizen pwnage of Soul Society and unexpectedly they shortened the action a bit. There’s supposed to be more fights and notably the other 3 gatekeepers of Soul Society got the cut. Well, their appearence was more of an excuse for Jidanbou to show off his 1337 skillz anyways.

I was abit disappointed by this episode, as it kinda felt rushed but they still did cover most of the manga stuff in the chapters being animated. My guess would be that the Soul Society arc will end with the next episode, which is going to be aired on the 10th of January by the way, and they’ll all go back and live happily ever after…………….NOT!!!!

I guess they’ll be starting up the filler arcs for the new year. I’ll stick around and watch for a few episodes, to give them the benefit of the doubt. If it starts to look cheap-ass, cheesy, or get-item-A-and-weapon-B type of stories, then I bash them up nicely :).

Oh…. How I WANT to see Sodeno Shirayuki animated _|-|0””’

Random Ramblings…..

Ahh….. _|-|0””…. just finished spamming Evangelion Renewal in 2 days. Seriously, a word of warning, don’t do that unless you wanna turn antisocial and angsty. EVA really did that to me, making all my friends asking what happened to me. Maybe I’m just an attention-seeking whore… Ehem…. brainf**k at work…..

Other than that, I just watched Kong tonight. It was quite a good watch, albeit a little too long at 3 hours straight. It was roughly 1 hour to reach the island, 1 hour to catch Kong and 1 hour to kill him. I kinda feel sad for Kong though, he died of absolutely no fault on him own T_T.

On other stuff, I intend to do a 2005 in review for anime…. but just kinda feel like I’m not fit to do it, considering I missed half a year of anime…, well, maybe I might do it during Christmas. There’s not much anime coming out in December I’m interested in, except for Itsudatte! My Santa, which was actually kinda dumb that I don’t even feel like blogging it. Next month should prove interesting, with the advent of Fate/Stay Night, which is the series that ANY hardcore otaku should take a look at, and also Hellsing Ultimate, as long as they don’t delay it again >.< .There's also quite a few titles coming out in January that I'm interested in and I'll cover that later.... or maybe not.

Sigh.... this semester is actually proving to be quite a b*tch, being a short semester and all, have to cover 3 subjects in 2 months. I have my finals in 2 weeks plus, and I still can't understand a single thing the lecturers are teaching (except for English) as the classes are all at stupid times... LIKE 8AM =.=.... I can hardly wake up for the class, let alone pay attention... Oh well, hopefully I won't fail it.

Well to end this off, here's my current desktop.... which I haven't changed in quite a while....

Comic Fiesta 2005 Trip.

Well, for the unintiated, Comic Fiesta(CF) is a local event that’s the rough equivalent of Japan’s Comiket and America’s anime con’s. It’s not as big as those events but it’s still worth a visit :).

First of all, this year’s CF was held at Sri Sedaya School’s Hall. Being it a private school, the venue was satisfactorily big and air-conditioned enough to fit everyone in. I still remember a horrendous CF back 2-3 years ago where the venue was for 50 people, but had to fit in 200-300 people >.< . I heard that last year was at the National Art Gallery, but too bad missed it. Still the choice of venue was okay, except for the location of the venue, which was quite far off any food stalls..... the nearest one being AT LEAST 30 minutes away.

I guess the best part of it were the cosplayers. I saw quite a lot of variety there, from the ever-present Naruto and Bleach cosplayers right down to the D-Grayman cosplayers and EGL'ers. I guess the Malaysian cosplay scene is getting much more better :).For pics, click here and here too.

I didn’t really stay long though, due to starvation so I went to the nearby shopping center thanks to a friend and bought some groceries. It was kinda funny that I went to CF and came back with apples and shower gel XD. Unfortunately, none of the merchandise there interested me, being the run-of-the-mill Naruto and Bleach related stuff. It’s kinda sad to see the shocking lack of merchandise for other series over here, but then it would really hard to get past the Customs, considering the stuff that I want are mostly jailbait “exciting” stuff, XD.

Anyways, the best part should be tommorow… oops today, with the cosplay competition, but due to transport problems I can’t go >.<. Well, there’s still next year ^_^.
