Mushishi 04

First attempt at watching this raw, made me realise I can’t grasp the form of language they are using. But basically, it’s plucked straight from the manga, so having read the manga, I understood the basic premise.

Well, I’m not gonna say much about it. Again, there’s nothing I can cover that hasn’t been done by Omni. I’ll be sticking to subs from now on, hopefully C1 won’t let us fans down ^_-.

So far, the production team of Mushishi has been sticking really close to the manga version, with the only difference of moving the seqeuences of the episodes around. One thing I find I really like about Mushishi, is the author makes the side-characters for every episode unique enough to not be labelled as mere stereotypes, yet still be plain enough to not stand out. The Jigoku Shoujo crew could take a few pointers from Urushibara Yuki on making characters :).

So far, there’s no confirmed annoucements about the amount of episodes that Mushishi will have. Mushishi would work well for a 12/13 episoder, taking the manga material. If it’s a 24/26 episoder, I’m not sure they can sustain the current pace. Hopefully, the “cheesy & cheap filler” syndrome won’t plague Mushishi.

News from the south of the border….

DarkMirage has just posted quite some info today on his blog. Bless the guy, I just love him for posting stuff like this. He’s just bought December’s Newtype, which contains quite some info.

First off, there seems to be news of a Mai HiME movie from the Mai HiME DVD’s. I’m not sure if it’s translation error or misprints, but it proves to be quite interesting for a Nao-sama worshipper.. erm.. I mean Mai HiME fanboys all round. I dunno how they’re gonna write it out, but possibly it could just be a whole recap episode extended to 1.5 hours.

Next, there’s also a 2005 Seiyuu Power Ranking(Female) in Newtype with the results as followed:

01. Megumi Hayashibara
02. Rie Tanaka
03. Houko Kuwashima
04. Yui Horie
05. Maaya Sakamoto
06. Naomi Shindou
07. Mamiko Noto
08. Nana Mizuki
09. Mai Nakahara
10. Megumi Toyoguchi.

Just about most of my favourite seiyuus are in, though Noto-sama should be much more higher T_T. I guess Gundam SEED Destiny still holds it’s power in Japan, as the list is pretty much dominated by it’s seiyuus, from Rie Tanaka(Lacus Clyne) to Megumi Toyoguchi (Miriallia). I’m just glad that Noto-sama didn’t participate in the sorry excuse for an anime. It’s also too bad that Ayako Kawasumi-sama isn’t in as well, but then she’s been a bit on the smaller roles this year. I suspect that would change next year with the Fate/stay Night anime debuting in February.

And same with DarkMirage, I’m in awe with Megumi Hayashibara. It’s really a testament of her power to stay on top of the seiyuu rankings even if she’s rarely seen nowadays.

Now, if he’d translate the male seiyuu list. Although, I do suspect Akira Ishida and Hoshi Souichiro are on the top of the list.

Watch out, moy!!

In “Outrageous News of the Day” No.2, Funimation has just served a C&D to Akadot for importing FMA OST’s from Japan.

Apparently, even importing the real original stuff from Japan constitutes a copyright infringement, creating some concern in Matt, who (as everyone knows) imports stuff straight from Japan. Hopefully, Funimation won’t read you blog, eh, Matt.

Much more of my concern is moyism, who’s legendary among us for being the “Avatar of the Goddess of Spending”, and imports enough stuff to just be a bit short of opening a full fledged anime merchandise shop. Though a C&D would seriously help him out a lot.. financially, if you get my drift.

Well, more reasons to ditch the States and go the Japan, haha.

Goshujin-samaaa~~~

Just found this off Anime News Service, a company in Japan, こすぷ@らいふ is now offering a real meido service in to your house to serve you. They will play games with you, tell you a story, help with housework, get harrased by a horny crocodile, forced to cosplay, rack up huge debts.. and much more.

Although, strictly saying the maids will not perform sexual service, but I doubt that as quoted from ANS,

But the move has generated alot of controversy since these young cosplay girls are already the object of lust from the hard moe and naughty tentacles otaku crowd just by doing their thing safe in the trappings of a maid cafe.

So, I guess some “*afuta-sabisu*” will be done instead?

Well, nothing much shocking about it, as said by Maestro, our gracious *goshujin-sama*…webhost , Japan is :

- [15:14] [maestro] this is the country with soapland and love hotels you know ^_^_
- [15:14] [maestro] and the country that once sold soiled school girl’s panties in vending machines
- [15:21] [Byakko] blurs the line between a pedophile and an otaku….
- [15:23] [Maestro in japan is there really a line between them? ^_^

… and there you have it, from the land of hiphop samurai’s and Angel slayings by angsty 14-yr olds lusting for their red-head partners.

Well, I guess beerman and Jason would love it. I can already hear Jason’s *nekomimi* cosplay kit being torn open as I type.

SHUFFLE! 17

Kaede-sama~~

Usually I don’t blog Shuffle as I feel lazy to blog.. wanted to concentrate on the Fall season shows. But 17 was sooo good, I decided to join in the fray as well. Be forewarned though, I’m not gonna blog it fully. Check Omni’s blog for pics and summary.

First off, Kikyou was cool, really cool. She’s my third favourite girl in the SHUFFLE! universe right now. Personally, I don’t like Nerine and Sia much as I don’t really like their personalities much. But Sia partially redeems herself, thanks to Kikyo :).

But, no pretenses here, I’m a KKK member true to the heart. Asa is good, nontheless, but Kaede’s backstory just plainly wins me over. I’m rooting much for a Kaede ending, although it saddens me now that Kaede’s been relegated to wallflower status. But I’m keeping my hands crossed that’s the tactic of the production crew to build up her backstory, as well, she just means to be like that. Kaede got +5 moé from me this episode for calling the police in, XD. Another +5 for her *shimpai no kao*.

Oh, and they should really put more Primula in cheongsam shots. She looks darn sexy in them.

Anyways, I still like the way the production crew is making this anime. I’m pretty much jaded of harem anime’s already but SHUFFLE! is the only one that catches my attention. The way they handled Sia and Kikyou’s dialouge was real good. Too bad for her that Rin turned her down, but less one competitor for Kaede ^_^.

Remember, KITTO KITTO KAEDE!!!

Mai Otome 06

Nao-sama~~~

BEST. EPISODE. EVER.

Following in the Mai universe tradition, tentacled monsters MUST appear. Tis’ is a good tradition my friends. A pretty good one. Hell, I don’t even mind if Sunrise turns the Mai universe in to the second GUNDAM-esque franchise. Just keep Shizuru, Natsuki, Mai , Shiho and Nao in plus all the yuri and the “traditions”. Ah…. I patiently await Mai-SEED.

I suggest a law making it compulsary for all *bishoujo’s* to learn CPR and to always be near a pool/sea/body of water.

Nina makes me come. I’m liking her much much more. Though, she should be pleased with Erstin’s CPR. I would kill for that to happen to me.

GAHHH!!! I JUST CAN’T BLOG THIS EPISODE. TOO EXCITED TO GO ON!!!!!

Anyways, just watch. JUST WATCH IT.

Oh and before I go, I pledge allegience to the Nao-sama Fanclub. Shiho, you should do that too.

(I’ll probably finish up this post as soon as I finish fapping…calming myself down)

(Even after fapping…calming myself down, I sat down to watch Otome 06 again. I still have blogger’s block on it, unfortunately, but head over to Omni’s and Zyl’s post for screencaps and summaries. I’m busy making an idol of Nao-sama to worship… err, watching other anime.)

Karin 02

Karin 02

(for screencaps, as usual, go to Omni’s post)

First off, the OP sequence takes , hands down, as the most fanservicing OP sequence this season, I can already imagine abq from lolitron’s post in my head ^_^. The song isn’t too bad too, fortunately. Most of the times, fanservice-cy OP’s are there to disguise the fact the song sucks. But still, they’re just playing up the nosebleed parts a bit too much for my liking. In the manga, really, Karin doesn’t go around with nosebleeds every chapter. Suddenly, it feels like they’re targeting the middle-aged men group now, XD.

Some changes from manga too, as the enjoukousai part is included here instead, albeit a bit messy, IMHO. Basically, they’ve managed to set up most of the basic settings of the series in this episode, with the introduction of Usui’s mom and Karin’s brother, Julian(their work place) and the “blood preferences” part of the vampires.

For a more detailed explanation, the “blood preference” refers to the characteristics of a person a vampire is most likely to be attracted too. Examples given are Maaka’s mom who wants blood from a liar, Maaka’s brother who wants blood from a stressed-out person and Karin herself, is attracted to people who are unfortunate, making Usui and his mom, prime targets for her.

On that note, Usui’s mom, Fumio, is my most favourite character in the series XD. Apart from being unfortunate, she’s also the type that “attracts older men”, gaining a lot of moé points. I have to give a lot of credit to the animation crew for casting Aya Hisakawa as her. She fits Fumio like a glove, playing both her “unfortunate” and *genki* parts pretty good.

As for other things, I’m pretty impressed with Sayuri Yahagi, Karin’s seiyuu. She’s playing Karin uncannily good, using the right voices for the right parts. If I’d didn’t know it beforehand, I’d say a more experienced seiyuu was doing her. Ah… the birth of a rising star,I guess.
