Basically a more laidback episode as the foil for the previous two ‘serious’ episodes to introduce Kanaria, the last of the Rozen Maiden dolls.
It’s a normal day at Jun’s house as the group plays and drinks tea in Jun’s room. Jun, getting pissed off as usual, questions Shinku why is everyone treating his room as his own to which Shinku replies classically, “My servant’s stuff is my stuff, my stuff *is* my stuff” ^_^;;.
Unable to take it anymore, Jun heads for the library to study and Nori leaves for school, leaving the gang to rusuban at home. But before they leave, Jun locks up everything, just in case a robber comes it, leading to some… unwanted things happening.
Unbeknownst to them, another Rozen Maiden is snooping at them, planning to get the gang’s Roza Mystica’s. The doll, Kanaria (very very dojikko) formulates a plan to get in the house when Jun and Nori leave the house by entering when the door closes but fails.
She then tries to get them open the door by ringing the doorbell, but Shinku forbids them to open the door. But, annoyed, Suisuiseki throws a bucket of water down the next time the door bell rings, but it’s not Kanaria who gets it, but the poor guy from season one, trying to ask Nori for a date (poor guy :P).Finally, Kanaria manages to enter from the toilet window(her declaration of war here was darn funny, XD).
Inside, the gang is watching Kunkun, watched by Kanaria from the door. Kanaria decides to take the chance and explore aorund the house when the gang is entranced by the TV. But she forgets to close the door and spooks the gang out when some wind blows open the door, leading Shinku to use her “Kun-kun Henshin Se-e-to” and going all “Sherlock Holmes”. This leads to a game of hide-and-seek around the house between the gang and Kanaria, ending when Kanaria tries to put out the fire inadvertantly caused by Hina Ichigo.
Meanwhile, Jun is studying in the toshokan, when Tomoe appears and laughs at Jun’s bag which has been vandalized by the dolls. Heading home with Tomoe, Jun stops by Enju and meets the Father lookalike, making some dolls. He is mesmerized by the sight.
Back home, the Suisuiseki easily puts out the fire but causes a big mess, making Shinku use her powers to restore it to normal. This is felt by Jun and he rushes home while the dolls, apparently not paying much attention, use the powerful “Dare?” on Kanaria, pissing her off. Jun reaches back home and is in shock upon discovering Kanaria with the dolls. Shinku ominously mentions that all the dolls have been awakened, switching the scene to Barasuishou, declaring the true Alice Game starts now.
The next episode, Vereinbarung, or Agreement, seems to deal with Sousuiseki and Suisuiseki with some hints of a fight between Barasuishou and Sousuiseki.
A fairly humourous episode as no doubt Kanaria is quite the star of this episode. She’s as playful as Hina Ichigo but not as childish as her, making her quite funny to watch too. Her dojikko antics were also funny, but she still has some common sense in her. She’s also quite acquainted with modern stuff, evidenced by the fact she shut off the gas first when the fire occured. I would wonder who awakened her?
There’s also some development between Jun and Tomoe as they seem to meet each other a lot. It would be no wonder that this two will end up with each other, unless Jun’s doll fetish gets out of hand ^_^;;.
This episode also quickly turns serious at the ending with Shinku’s ominous statement and Barasuishou’s declaration of the true Alice Game starting now. It would seem to me that Sousuiseki and Suisuiseki might be the first casualties of the game, based on the preview. Hopefully, they’ll stay longer than I expect.
