Hmm, good points there. Well, i was blogging it in fanboy mode, so it's really very screwed ^_^.

I agree with the point that MO is much more serious than MH was. I might have misdefined your comment there, but I meant as a tribute to your mastery of the Mai Universe :). I was a bit too..errmm... 'overstimulated' by this episode. Dunno why, the revelation of "no-sex-with-guys" snapped something in my brain, hard, very very hard.

But still, I do remember that a Fumoffu-style spinoff was dearly wanted by all Mai-HiME fans (me included), especially during the killing spree arc. I strongly felt that Sunrise added in the extra humour for this series due to our wishes, haha. I dunno why, I just find it really good, just for the appearence of the old HiME characters ;).

Now I think you've misunderstood my comment - which was based on the funny scene when Haruka plays space javelin with the glider. These are the scenes when the Mai Universe's ability to mock itself shine through (an ability which I really like)

I strongly disagree to Mai Otome becoming to Mai HiME what Fumoffu was to FMP. Absolutely 100% not. Otome has already laid out many very serious plotlines which are being developed, and the more we learn about Nina's backstory, the sadder it becomes. If we compare all this to the original MH's first 4 episodes, Otome is _much_ more serious and much darker overall. I think it's a valid full AU-sequel which fans of MH can approve. It is NO Fumoffu-style all-comedy sidekick. As much as I love Fumoffu - MO is a full story on its own.
